Mi relación con la navidad es algo ambigua, así que intentaré expresar en esta publicación lo que en verdad me gusta de la navidad. La navidad en el sentido intrínseco es el momento del año que contiene un sentido histórico y religioso bastante denso, de hecho comprenderlo en su totalidad es bastante complejo, a lo que intentaré en otra ocasión abordar un poco. Podemos quedarnos con lo que culturalmente se ha edificado en torno a la época decembrina  y eso está bien, de hecho, cada cultura ha construido tradiciones que responden a cierta idiosincrasia y develan el ser de cada pueblo. 

Soy del país con el nombre homónimo de esta comunidad, y debo decir que Venezuela tiene tradiciones navideñas muy especiales, tradiciones gastronómicas, musicales, religiosas  y entre otras. Tengo que afirmar que de muchas  cosas tradicionales en Venezuela estoy enamorado.  Quizá lo que no me gusta tanto de estas fechas es su vuelco compulsivo hacia el materialismo tóxico impuesto por la cultura del consumo, pero de eso no vengo hablar en esta oportunidad. 

Enumerar las tradiciones Venezolanas típicas de estas fechas es algo largo, quizá las más populares son: 

##### Los aguinaldos. 
##### El pesebre.
##### Las misas de aguinaldos.
##### La mesa navideña.
##### Las parrandas.
##### Las paraduras del niño. 

No me detendré a explicar de qué  vá cada una de estas tradiciones, sólo me detendré  a explicar la tradición con la que más me identifico, para así responder a la pregunta sugerida. 

¿Cuál es la tradición venezolana de Navidad que más te gusta?
El plato navideño es la tradición que más me gusta, debo decir en este punto que uno de los placeres que más disfruto es comer, y en Venezuela hay una gastronomía muy rica y variada en este aspecto. El plato navideño lleva Hallaca (una especie de tamal), pan de jamón, y ensalada de gallina, hasta este punto se podría considerar un plato navideño tradicional,  pero, hay otros elementos que muchas personas le agregan a este plato. Por ejemplo, el asado negro, una torta llamada selva negra, pernil horneado.

Recientemente mi esposa (@zullyscott) y yo fuimos a una cena navideña organizada por otro hiver (@jesusalejos), y vaya que ha sido un gran cena, en pocas palabras fue una actividad para recoger fondos para apoyar a una iglesia acá en la ciudad de Barquisimeto, hubo grupos musicales, buena bebida, y buena comida, y tuvimos la oportunidad de degustar el primer plato navideño. Lo disfrutamos mucho. 

Otra de las tradiciones venezolanas que más disfruto mucho es la misa de aguinaldo, crecí en una familia bastante allegada a la iglesia católica y en Venezuela es el único lugar en el mundo donde se celebran estas misas, suelen ser celebraciones religiosas en conmemoración al misterio de la encarnación y suelen celebrarse muy temprano en las mañanas, por lo general entre 5 y 6 de la mañana.

## Cuéntanos cómo celebran la Navidad en tu familia


Ahora bien, aquí, en la respuesta a esta segunda cuestión  creo que dejaré mucho que desear, porque mi núcleo familiar en verdad es bastante huraña, y nunca hemos hecho grandes celebraciones navideñas, o le hemos puesto demasiada importancia a compartir con el resto de la familia.  Creo que nuestro ritual más importante está en torno a la mesa, ya que solemos hacer o comprar lo necesario para celebrar una cena navideña. 

## ¿Cuál es tu deseo está Navidad para Hive?

En mi deseo de navidad para Hive me voy a extender un poco, ya que quiero hacer un paralelismo entre lo que implica la navidad en su sentido más subyacente con nuestra disposición de espíritu frente a Hive. Navidad viene del latín “nativitas” y significa nacimiento, en el sentido cristiano del asunto, se celebra el nacimiento del hijo de Dios,  y aunque esta fiesta antes de ser bautizada por la cristiandad era una festividad que celebra el “sol naciente” ya que astronómicamente en estas fechas, se da el equinoccio de invierno en el hemisferio norte, es válido preguntarnos, **¿Qué implica “nacer” para cada uno de nosotros en relación con Hive?**

Considero que nacer  es comenzar un nuevo ciclo, replantearnos lo que somos, lo que hacemos. Es proyectar un horizonte de sentido que pueda fortalecer el ecosistema de Hive independientemente de nuestra actividad dentro de la blockchain.  

Lo que intento decir es que podamos hacer una autoevaluación cada uno de los que conformamos la comunidad de Hive, y darnos cuenta que lo que hacemos lo podemos hacer mejor, la pregunta es ¿Cómo? pero la respuesta es algo individual. La descentralización nos da la libertad y la posibilidad de proyectarnos con autonomía, entendiendo que  Hive es el lugar común donde congregamos miles de cosmovisiones,  pero que todos deberíamos aprender cada día más sobre el ecosistema de Hive, y aportar en la medida de lo posible por su construcción. 

En resumen, mi deseo de navidad para Hive, es que para este 2023 todos los que integramos el ecosistema aportemos en la construcción de Hive, sumar más  stake, aportar aún más profesionalismo a los proyectos que lideramos o formamos parte, como creadores de contenido, lo hagamos mejor cada vez, que no paremos de hacer las cosas cada vez mejor, ya que siempre se pueda dar un poco más. Crecemos todos individualmente y crece el ecosistema en conjunto.

# "What I love about Christmas" [Initiative].

Christmas in the intrinsic sense is the time of the year that contains a quite dense historical and religious sense, in fact to understand it in its totality is quite complex, to which I will try in another occasion to approach a little. We can stay with what has been culturally built around the Christmas season and that's fine, in fact, each culture has built traditions that respond to certain idiosyncrasies and reveal the being of each people. 

I am from the country with the homonymous name of this community, and I must say that Venezuela has very special Christmas traditions, gastronomic, musical, religious and other traditions. I have to say that I am in love with many traditional things in Venezuela.  Maybe what I don't like so much about these dates is its compulsive turn towards the toxic materialism imposed by the consumer culture, but that's not what I'm going to talk about in this opportunity. 

To list the typical Venezuelan traditions of these dates is a bit long, perhaps the most popular are: 

##### The aguinaldos. 
##### The nativity scene.
##### The aguinaldos masses.
##### The Christmas table.
##### The parrandas.
##### The child's birth. 

I will not stop to explain what each of these traditions is about, I will only stop to explain the tradition with which I most identify myself, in order to answer the suggested question. 

Which Venezuelan Christmas tradition do you like the most?
The Christmas dish is the tradition I like the most, I must say at this point that one of the pleasures I enjoy the most is eating, and in Venezuela there is a very rich and varied gastronomy in this aspect. The Christmas dish has Hallaca (a kind of tamale), ham bread, and chicken salad, up to this point it could be considered a traditional Christmas dish, but, there are other elements that many people add to this dish. For example, asado negro, a cake called selva negra, pernil horneado.

Recently my wife (@zullyscott) and I went to a Christmas dinner organized by another hiver (@jesusalejos), and what a great dinner it was, in short it was a fundraiser to support a church here in the city of Barquisimeto, there were musical groups, good drinks, and good food, and we had the opportunity to taste the first Christmas dish. We enjoyed it very much. 

Another Venezuelan tradition that I really enjoy is the aguinaldo mass, I grew up in a family very close to the Catholic church and in Venezuela is the only place in the world where these masses are celebrated, they are usually religious celebrations in commemoration of the mystery of the incarnation and are usually celebrated very early in the morning, usually between 5 and 6 in the morning.

## Tell us how do you celebrate Christmas in your family?


Now, here, in the answer to this second question I think I will leave much to be desired, because my nuclear family is really quite sullen, and we have never done big Christmas celebrations, or we have put too much importance on sharing with the rest of the family.  I think our most important ritual is around the table, as we usually make or buy what we need to celebrate a Christmas dinner. 

What is your Christmas wish for Hive?

In my Christmas wish for Hive I am going to expand a bit, as I want to draw a parallel between what Christmas implies in its most underlying sense with our disposition of spirit in front of Hive. Christmas comes from the Latin "nativitas" and means birth, in the Christian sense of the matter, the birth of the son of God is celebrated, and although this feast before being baptized by Christianity was a feast that celebrates the "rising sun" since astronomically on these dates, the winter equinox occurs in the northern hemisphere, it is valid to ask ourselves, **What does "being born" imply for each of us in relation to Hive?**.

I believe that to be born is to begin a new cycle, to rethink what we are, what we do. It is to project a horizon of meaning that can strengthen the Hive ecosystem regardless of our activity within the blockchain.  

What I am trying to say is that each one of us in the Hive community can make a self-evaluation, and realize that what we do we can do better, the question is how, but the answer is something individual. Decentralization gives us the freedom and the possibility to project ourselves with autonomy, understanding that Hive is the common place where we gather thousands of worldviews, but that we should all learn every day more about the Hive ecosystem, and contribute as much as possible for its construction. 

In summary, my Christmas wish for Hive, is that for this 2023 all of us who are part of the ecosystem contribute to the construction of Hive, add more stake, bring even more professionalism to the projects we lead or are part of, as content creators, we do it better every time, we do not stop doing things better and better, because we can always give a little more. We all grow individually and the ecosystem grows as a whole.
