funny, i really enjoyed season 8 and the ending, secret of "no expectations' i guess

It is a TV show after all. We can clearly see the difference between the authors perspective versus the production team of writers and directors. People may be disappointed with the ending, but it does seem very indicative of the story.

I do not agree, Jon always a Chaotic Neutral character, he was a bastard, he grew up as such, the only longing that you could see was knowing his origin, he was a leader but due to the circumstances, he never ambitioned anything, he only wanted the end of the War and the He had to do what he should have done to kill his beloved and still he did not know if it was the right thing to do. He never wanted the throne and would never accept it. i like him finish. Jon had the ending that should have been, except that I would have liked it to be a decision to go to "exile" because I am angry or always happy as savage

Personally I thought the finale was fine, the big screwup this season was the battle with the Night King and the army of the dead. It was all meaningless spectacle. Other than Arya's final kill-shot none of the fighting actually made any difference, it was all a waiting game for the Night King to tell his troops to stop so he could go attack Bran personally. That apparently would have happened regardless of whether the Dothraki were massacred, etc. In a well-written story the things the characters do matters, but in that episode most of the characters could just as easily have stood around doing nothing and gotten the exact same result. Since the show has been building up the threat of the White Walkers since the beginning it was a bad choice to have that plotline resolve in such a weightless manner.

It's implied that the Unsullied are sailing with Grey Worm to Naath, Misandei's homeland. I think there were originally a few thousand Unsullied in Danaerys's army. Presumably some have died in the various battles they've been involved in, and then there was some dialog in one of the episodes this season that 50% died in the battle with the Night King. They are unlikely to outnumber any of the Westerosi armies. Also, the strength of the Unsullied is in their highly disciplined fighting style on the battlefield, when they're trying to occupy territory they don't seem dramatically better than anyone else (e.g. they were getting picked off in Meereen).

I think they're trying to highlight the difference between _wanting_ to be the king (ambition) and willingness to do the job (duty). He's doing it because he believes he is supposed to, not because he has a personal desire to be the king.

I want to talk about it, but I haven't watched it yet, I'll do that tomorrow morning... Then I'll be back to read your post (afraid of spoilers):D

❤ I am not disappointed at all. I truly am very happy watching the ending. After years of watching violence and bloodshed, I finally felt the peace and joy everyone wants. People like Brandon should rule the world who has no greed for the throne and who "knows", and that's what happened in GOT. 
What would be amazing now if they do another 3 episode season where we can see how peacefully they live afterwards, because we feel it or not, we love to see the lifestyles of the Kings, world in their times - we love their stories - more than anything. ❤

Totally a disappointment of season, too hasty, left many gaps in the plot, "solved" problems in the most stupid and meaningless way possible, the change in some characters was very fast and not at all contextual to what they were demonstrating during all 8 season.


The whole thing about Jon being a targaryen went nowhere.

From the first season we are told that "Winter is Coming" that is, the biggest danger in GOT were the white walkers and the night king and everything ended too fast and without consequences.

Another disappointment was Cercei, a great character, very intelligent and evil, was succumbed to a bad script, expected some plan on his part.


There are too many questionable things about this season and a total disappointment.

I share your oppinion. I'm dissapoint too. Two years of waiting for what? For that, I can say, not so good ending. I was so exciting because of this season, but they dissapoint me in one hour. They didn't answer for some big questions, like you said. 
That moment of Deny's death... John (Aegon), who is just one prisoner, not the last one king.. Arya, who goes somewhere else, we don't know where... Bran, who refused to be King on the North, but said that he is ready to be King of the Seven Kingdoms.. 
The Drogon, who flies somewhere.. 
I didn't expected this. This is so big dissapoint for me and I would like they change the ending, they didn't explain anything, so much confusing things.. I'm so mad and I'm sorry I lost my time on watching this 8 season.

I had no expectations from the ending yet they somehow managed to disappoint me.

Ending was terrible... ;(

Sad that let such a good show go to waste. IT was beautiful and with good tunes, but otherwise bad...
