_If you are a SmartCash holder then you are eligible to vote on all SmartCash proposals to assign funds from the project treasury. So far, this process was hidden, unintuitive and had to be done for each address seperatedly. With the latest Node Client 1.2.4 this has changed dramatically and is now as easy as it should be._

## Node Client First, Electrum Wallet Later
If you don't run a SmartNode you probably use the Electrum wallet rather then the Node Client (which is the old desktop wallet). In that case you have to wait a little bit longer as the new SmartVote feature will be implemented there later. Check out [my tutorial](https://steemit.com/utopian-io/@flauwy/how-to-vote-for-a-smartcash-proposal-with-the-electrum-wallet) to learn how to vote with the Electrum wallet. If you run a SmartNode or if you don't mind to load the entire blockchain then you can use the new Node Client to get access right away.

## New SmartVote Tab
With the version 1.2.4 of the Node Client we get a new tab called SmartVote. If you open it you will see the active SmartCash proposals ordered from oldest to youngest. All relevant information is displayed:

- Proposal Number
- Proposal Title
- Requested Funds in USD and SMART
- Voting Deadline with visual bar
- Voting choices (Disabled (for multi-votes), Yes, No, Abstain)
- Own votes for this proposal
- Current voting statistic
- Link to original proposal

## Bundling Addresses
One of the best features of them all are bundling all your addresses by default together to do a combined vote instead of doing all addresses after another as before. If you want to use just a few addresses you can go to _Select addresses_ and deselect those you would like to omit. This saves a lot of time and makes voting much easier than before.

## Multi-Voting
The second feature that makes voting much easier is the option to select your voting choices for all proposals individually and confirm them all together. This simple solution makes voting much more attractive because before it was a quite a bit of work to get all your votes through. Now you can vote for all proposals very quickly and participate therefore more frequently in the decentralized treasury allocation.

## P.S. SmartNode Update

If you run a SmartNode you must update your Node Client or your nodes might expire. Then update your server to v1020400. Check with <code>smartcash-cli getinfo</code> what version you are running. If it is lower use the following commands one after another to install the latest version via your Virtual Private Server. 

<code>sudo apt update && sudo apt install smartcashd -y</code>
<code>smartcash-cli stop</code>
<code>smartcashd</code>

If all went smoothly there is no further action necessary. If your node was already expired and waiting for a new start - like mine - then you might run into a __Connections: 0__ problem. You can see that as well with the command <code>smartcash-cli getinfo</code>. If that is the case then you can simply use the following command to solve that: 
<code>smartcash-cli stop && sleep 5 && rm ~/.smartcash/peers.dat && smartcashd</code>. 

_I am very happy about this update for the Node Client. I haven't expected that so it is even more of a surprise for me to see yet another great step into easier usability for wider adoption. Well done, SmartHive. And thanks to @zaphoid and CryptoDerpin for the support on Discord._
