**Continuing with the games based on cavemen, this time is the review of Joe &amp; Mac, which I had already talked about this game in the "name of the game" review and which would be a kind of "sequel". Joe &amp; Mac was born in the arcades and has several versions, but the one I will talk about today is the SNES version. We are in front of a very entertaining platform and action game, due to its good mechanics, excellent control of the characters and especially for its characteristic and cartoonish humor. **It is quite evident that the developers of video games of the platform genre did not strive to make a deep story, since it was not at all something necessary because the greatest strength of this type of video games is its gameplay and it could also be considered that the graphics were important, although the latter may be a personal taste that may or may not influence the appreciation of the game. These types of games were characterized by having very typical stories from saving the world or rescuing someone who has been kidnapped and the video game story has the latter. Joe &amp; Mac is a game that we can control two cavemen and they are part of a tribe, one night the rival tribe of these kidnap the women of the village, so now our protagonists must face various opponents and obstacles to rescue them. As you can see it is a very cliché and typical story, but it serves as a pretext to put these characters in situation, besides the story is enjoyable because this is a video game that has a lot of humor.**

**Graphically we are in front of a very colorful game that keeps in the line of Congo's Caper or rather, that game keeps the line of Joe &amp; Mac, but this time the sprites of the characters are a little bigger and therefore being this a game where there is enough humor, the sprites of the characters can represent quite well expressions that makes them look quite funny and charismatic. Perhaps the movement set is not as fluid or varied as that of its "spiritual sequel"; but still manages to look with an optical fluidity for a game where we are in constant movement and especially in jumps. The variety of scenarios is adequate and has the characteristic elements that can allude to the time of cavemen, from jungles, caves, volcanic areas and many dinosaurs will be in the scenarios. You will also find other cavemen as enemies, which have a much wilder design compared to our protagonists. Something that caught my attention is that certain final bosses have quite large designs, occupying a large part of the screen and their sprites are very good, this game has a pixel art style very well done.**

**The music of this game I liked much more than the one we can hear in Congo's Caper, music with tropical rhythms and "cave" rhythms, so to speak, it is a style of music that when listening to it manages to convey "wild and adventure", it is a style of music that can be associated quite well to the time in which the events of this game take place, it is difficult to explain but that's basically it. But there are also other musical styles quite cheerful, tribal and others that fit perfectly with all the humorous moments of this game, no doubt the musical aspect of Joe &amp; Mac is a character that manages to set the scene very well. The sound effects fulfill their purpose efficiently, but it's not something spectacular, they are there to fulfill their purpose and that's it, they work well and that's what matters. Joe &amp; Mac: Caveman Ninja or simply Joe &amp; Mac, as I said before, is a platform game and it is a fairly conventional one.**

**It is a horizontal scrolling game where attacking, jumping and hitting enemies are the main objectives of its gameplay.  With an extremely simple control this is a very entertaining game due to that same simplicity in terms of its mechanics. We can use a decent variety of weapons to face our enemies, from bones, fire and even throwing weapons like boomerangs or the aforementioned game, for short distance hits we have a club, the classic club that uses the stereotypical caveman, these weapons vary in range and speed, so we will have to use it according to the situation, although in itself is not a difficult game, so we can almost use them all when we want, although there will be some bosses that may be more optimal to use a specific weapon. If we have a friend we can play the two-player mode, which makes it more fun, although as I do not have any friend to do it I played it alone. Joe &amp; Mac: Caveman Ninja quite entertaining, it is still a classic platform game, but due to its humor and a well-made control and mechanics is a type of game that serves to give us one or a couple of hours of fun.**

**Continuando con los juegos basados en cavernícolas, esta vez toca la review de Joe & Mac, el cual ya había hablado de este juego en la review de “nombre de juego” y el cual vendría siendo una especie de “secuela”. Joe & Mac nació en las arcades y cuenta con varias versiones, pero la cual les hablaré hoy es la version para SNES. Estamos ante un juego de plataformas y acción muy entretenido, debido a sus buenas mecánicas, excelente control en los personajes y especialmente por su humor tan característico y caricaturesco. **Es bastante evidente que los desarrolladores de videojuegos del genero plataformas no se esmeraban en hacer una historia profunda, ya que no era para nada algo necesario debido a que el mayor punto fuerte de este tipo de videojuegos es su jugabilidad y también se le podría considerar que los gráficos eran importantes, aunque esto último puede ser un gusto personal que puede o no influir en la apreciación del juego. Estos tipo de juegos se caracterizaban por tener historias muy típicas desde salvar al mundo o rescatar a alguien que ha sido secuestrado y la historia de videojuego cuenta con esto último. Joe & Mac es un juego que podremos controlar a dos cavernícolas y ellos forman parte de una tribu, una noche la tribu rival de estos secuestran a las mujeres de la aldea, por lo que ahora nuestros protagonistas deberán enfrentarse a diversos adversarios y obstáculos para poder rescatarlas. Como pueden ver es una historia sumamente cliché y típica, pero que sirve como pretexto para poner a estos personajes en situación, además de que la historia se hace amena debido a que este es un videojuego que cuenta con bastante humor.**

**Gráficamente estamos ante un juego muy colorido que se mantiene en la línea de Congo's Caper o mejor dicho, ese juego mantiene la línea de Joe & Mac, pero esta vez los sprites de los personajes son un poco más grandes y por ende al ser este un juego donde hay bastante humor, los sprites de los personajes pueden representar bastante bien expresividades que los hace ver bastante cómicos y carismáticos. Quizás el set de movimientos no sea tan fluido o variado como el de su “secuela espiritual”; pero aun así logra verse con una fluidez óptica para un juego donde estamos en constantes movimientos y especialmente en saltos. La variedad de escenarios es la adecuada y cuenta con los elementos característicos y a los que se le puede hacer alusión al tiempo de los cavernícolas, desde selvas, cuevas, zonas volcánicas y muchos dinosaurios habrá en los escenarios. También encontraremos a otros cavernícolas como enemigos, los cuales cuentan con un diseño mucho más salvaje a comparación al de nuestros protagonistas. Algo que me llamo bastante la atención es que ciertos jefes finales cuentan con diseños bastantes grandes, ocupando una gran parte de la pantalla y sus sprites son muy buenos, este juego cuenta con un estilo de pixel art muy bien hecho.**

**La música de este juego me gustó mucho más que la que podemos escuchar en Congo's Caper, música con ritmos tropicales y ritmos “cavernarios”, por decirlo de algún modo, es un estilo de música que al escucharlo logra transmitir “salvaje y aventura”, es un estilo de música que se puede asociar bastante bien a la época en la que transcurren los hechos de este juego, es difícil de explicar pero es básicamente eso. Pero también hay otros estilos musicales bastantes alegres, tribales y otros que encajan a la perfección con todos los momentos humorísticos de este juego, sin duda el aspecto musical de Joe & Mac es un personaje más que logra ambientar muy bien los escenarios. Los efectos de sonido cumplen con su propósito de manera eficiente, pero no es algo espectacular, están ahí para cumplir con su objetivo y ya, funcionan bien  y es lo que importa. Joe & Mac: Caveman Ninja o simplemente Joe & Mac, como ya he dicho anteriormente es un juego de plataformas y lo es de forma bastante convencional.**

**Es un juego con de desplazamiento horizontal donde atacar, saltar y golpear a los enemigos los son objetivos principales de su jugabilidad.  Con un control sumamente sencillo este es un juego bastante entretenido debido a esa misma simpleza en cuanto a sus mecánicas. Podemos usar una decente variedad de armas para enfrentarnos a nuestros enemigos, desde huesos, fuego e incluso armas arrojadizas como boomerangs o el antes mencionado juego, para golpes de corta distancia tenemos un garrote, el clásico garrote que usa el estereotipo de cavernícola, estas armas varían en rango y velocidad, por lo que habrá que usarla según la situación, aunque en si no es un juego difícil, por lo que casi que podremos usar todas cuando queramos, aunque habrán algunos jefes que quizás sea más óptimo usar un arma en específico. Si contamos con un amigo podremos jugar el modo para dos jugadores, lo que lo hace más divertido, aunque como yo no cuento con ningún amigo para hacerlo lo jugué solo. Joe & Mac: Caveman Ninja bastante entretenido, no deja de ser un juego de plataformas de los más clásicos, pero que debido a su humor y a un control y mecánicas bien hechas es un tipo de juego que sirve para darnos una o un par de horas de diversión.**
