Statuette

The drums boomed all over the place. Their sound echoed in the sky. They sounded so loud just to bid farewell to the strangest travelers who ever set foot in Couthiland. Not many lived there, but the people present at the farewell made so much noise that it seemed as if a whole city lay on the meadow bordering the coast of deep blue waters.
The visit to Couthiland by travelers represented an unusual event. In fact, no one ever visited Couthiland because it was such a remote land and it was feared for its dangerous seas. However, it all came to pass because the travelers were looking for something that was unique to this almost mythical land. For years, they sought to explore, digging and even paying to gain access to places just to find the longed-for treasure.

While some inhabitants of Couthiland said:

—Come back soon.

Others shouted with tears in their eyes:

—We will miss you!

The most curious thing about the case was that the inhabitants of Couthiland were hypnotized by the travelers and therefore their emotions were the product of an illusion. Since the first contact was established between the two races, the Couthiers, as the people of the inaccessible land were called, were put under a special magnetic field capable of numbing their thoughts in a short time.

They had stopped their daily activities to carry out what the travelers demanded of them for their own pleasure. They were happy subjects propitiating their own misfortune at the hand of beings they never imagined would appear. They even took out of their mega hiding place the triple statuette, symbol of peace: object glorified by the Couthiers; longed for by the travelers.

The mockery of these visitors was so great that they made the Couthiers themselves throw a party for the final theft of their precious triple statuette, as described at the beginning of this story.

The visitors, joyful, already felt victorious because they could take to their dimension the last vestige of well-being in the galaxy.

But in an instant their dark laughter stopped. From inside their space cruisers, a very intense light covered every corner like the sun when it peeks through the window.

What the heck is going on?— shouted the captain of the travelers several times.

Sir, surely it is the terrestrial statuette—answered a crew member.

No, it is the Jovian treasure, which is imploding—explained another one quickly.

Then, in the midst of the confusion, an explosion was heard that shook the main cruiser and caused it to stop immediately.

I don't want to think that there is a traitor among our ranks—said the captain of the evil ones very seriously.

—Impossible, sir, we are all loyal to you.

The travelers were totally worried by the situation. So the captain took the initiative to find out what was going on and ejected from the main cruiser.

Floating above his followers, with tons of anger on him and ready to take out his entire arsenal, the captain was stunned to see his cruisers of incorruptible material shattered to pieces.

I need to know what or who has made this attack! Show up now, I can't wait for the moment to take revenge—the captain's voice thundered over the sea.

—Captain, quickly, protect yourself!

—Impossible! Captain, what happened to you?

In the blink of an eye his captain had been wiped out before he could know what was happening. As soon as the first one fell, the others fell, too. One by one they disappeared. A slight flapping of wings and a breaking sound followed before each traveler left no trace of their existence.

And it could not be otherwise. For it was us, the eternal female falcons. From the sky we descended at extreme speeds hidden under the intense sunlight that hid our trail from the travelers. The entire galaxy suffered, but our eternal presence did not forsake the ones who watches over us so well.

My sisters, Tranquility and Harmony, and I, Kindness, stayed away, guarded by proud and courageous protectors, so that at the right moment we would emerge as the giants birds appointed to restore the Peace told by the universal legend of our origins.
