#### It's that time of year again, the old is in the past and 2017 is coming to an end. 
It is tradition to look back on the bad crap you do habitually to change your ways for the new year by making some sort of goal... or resolution.
After looking back on 2017, I realized that Steemit became an integral part of my life. Granted, the majority of the credit goes to Bitcoin receiving mainstream attention, but Steemit really changed up the game and the whole platform has evolved since the last new years. 
It is true -  *1 year in crypto-land is eternity*
 
So instead of doing the normal
> I will quit smoking and hit the gym after decades of laying on the couch with my favorite pack of Marlboro's.

I decided to go with a Steemit resolution as I should have done last year. A resolution should be challenging and rewarding but also achievable.

#### My 2018 Steemit resolution
- I won't power down for the entire year of 2018
- By next new years I want to be over 10k Steem Power

I feel if I invest more into the platform than the rewards will payoff in multiples. I also believe Steem prices will be around $10+ in a year, maybe earlier depending on the upcoming crypto adoption. In any case, one of my longer term investments choices is Steem at these prices and putting it away in SteemPower seems like the smart thing to do.

If I am correct and successful in my resolution I will reward myself with a nice vacation in January 2019 with a week of power-down pay.
The simple math breaks down 10k SP in 13 weeks to be about 770 Steem for a week of powering down. If at that point, Steem is at $10, then I will have over $7k to go on a vacation!

Happy New Years @generation.easy!
It would be a dream of mine to reach 10k Steem Power but I don't know how attainable that will be since I know the price of steem will blow up in 2018.

I haven't taken any money out yet (except for a $80 when I had to cover some of my bills) but I plan to HODL and gain more steem in the years to come.

It is great to see you have stuck around so long and hopefully we will become whales one day haha

and yes, one day a whale would be great - Get a lot of attention that way. But It's still early in cryptocurrencies and in the Steemit platform. Thinking a few years down the road is a good bet so I won't be going anywhere soon...

I'm not drawing enough upvotes to hit that kind of goal, but I have been all in since the beginning.  Hopefully my pace will pick up and I can power down too.  Although mine will probably go to some other crypto.  Or silver.

I normally don't make resolutions for the new year, but this year I need to take better care of my health, so I will eat better and get more regular exercise. I have lots of things I still want to do, so I need to stay healthy in order to live long enough to complete all the tasks I want to accomplish. Money without health means nothing, so health is number 1.

I'm really happy to hear that you are also looking at improving your lifestyle. You have a family that depends on you. All the more reason to look after yourself. Good luck with your resolutions!
