It is not a very large community and many of the people living here are pensioners. We are not a close community as people tend to keep to themselves and they don't easily make friends. Because there are not many people in the town, you would've thought that we would be a closer community. We have whats-app groups for each street to inform others if there are actual crime related issues. This is necessary because of the Crime rate in South Africa. We have a great Community police forum and they assist the Security company to keep the town safe. We have another group that is related to water issues too, which is specifically for ONLY water issues, but this group goes haywire most days. I have never heard so many complain about the same thing over and over again. The best is everyone complains but they don't lift a finger to resolve these issues themselves. If you look at the word "community" on its own, it is a word with the same root word as communion and communication, but to define "community" the word _connection_ actually defines it better. To be connected means that we are in fact linked to each other in some way, but in this town this is definitely not the case. Here, it is everyone for themselves. As a community I believe that we should all stand together and support each other wherever we can. Just like we support each other here according to the communities on hive, we should be there for each other at all times. What a pity that all people do not think this way. It is no use to complain about something if you are not willing to do something yourself. Look at the price of Petrol and Diesel! Everyone complains but it's like we all just accept it because we don't really have a choice. ( I am very glad to work from home so I don't have to drive) Even though we are all linked in some way or another, we prefer to be on our own and to do things ourselves. If we can't do anything about "something" the only thing we can do together is complain!! The human species is very weird and freaky. Seems like the one thing we are good at is COMPLAINING! It's time for us all to wake up!
