It's amazing how something that felt so ambiguous now tends to be a daily part of you, and still brings out that enthusiasm daily, This summarizes how my journey into the web3 space started.

Even though I have an affinity for the tech world and one day aspire to be a part of it and not just on the surface but in-depthly, being introduced to the web3 world also felt as intimidating as how someone learning a programming language. My first ever experience hearing about web3 was on the online space, a popular site known as Nairaland, I often saw crypto enthusiast discuss their passion for the web3 space and how it would soon dominate web2, they always never leave the word decentralization out of their discussion, and more importantly the financial aspect of it seemed too good to be true, which had me concluding that it was just another online scam, and I wouldn't fall for it.


Because how can someone just come saying they invested a certain amount buying a digital currency, only for them to wake up to it doubling the amount, all of these didn't look different from a ponzi scheme to me, so my "I don't want to risk it" self, paid a blind eyes to all these update about web3, sometimes i wish I had probed further, maybe indeed I would have been scammed because, without any doubt, to thrive on web3 platforms just like Hive, having a guard or mentor makes it easier.


It feels more exciting that I finally summoned the courage to be a part of a web3 blockchain that feels like home and also reward its users without waiting for some algorithm or numbers to meet up with, and this feat was achievable through the help of my younger sister, unlike me, she was the "risk it all' type, and made online friends who showed her some web3 opportunities like a previous write-to-earn platform known as Uptrend, all the while she was growing and gaining more knowledge, we never really took her serious and thought she was just lazying online all day, not until we started noticing obvious improvement in her writing, passion for singing and most importantly finances did we realize that web3 is a real deal and yes I finally made my very first post, after so much doubts.


Though I didn't receive any reward ar first, the heart warming welcome and engagement from real people all over the world made me feel at ease, with time, I made friends here, continued learning and improving myself, at some point, it wasn't even about the reward anymore, because Hive became a part of me, and this is a lifestyle I won't drop anytime soon, and i'm more excited to see what the future holds.


Not just writing, I was open to more knowledge about cryptocurrency on this platform, making fast and easy transactions without relying on traditional banks, the benefits of staking and securing your future, all in one blockchain. As I reflect on my journey, I'm grateful for the opportunity to be part of the web3 space, especially on Hive. It has been a transformative experience. What started as a curiosity has evolved into a passion that drives me to learn and grow.
