 On Tuesday morning around 9AM I went out and stocked my fencing bucket and found a roll of wire. My helper friend arrived at 9:30 and he got started weeding the Big garden.  I got started on the front pasture. It will need 10 posts to repair the fences, plus wire and insulators.  I moved onto the middle pasture and my helper friend had 4 comfrey volunteers he dug and planted with the new little trees. The middle pasture needs 8 posts and I have 3 available.  The comfrey has flowers now.  Next to it, the rhubarb is huge and we pulled more flowers off it Tuesday morning.  The horseradish is growing fast and has a flower. It needs to be dug up, all the roots, and a part replanted. My middle brother wants some and someone else laid claim to some too.  He got β of the Big garden weeded. The next job is to move all the mulch off and put amendment down, put up pea fences and plant peas. Better late than neverβ¦  He got tired of looking at all the winter kill on the Big rose and pruned it off. He also did the mountain laurel that was hit pretty hard.  The Kousa dogwood has tons of flowers started.  These are nearly all the little trees originally planted. The maple in the lower right corner has doubled in height this year so far. On Wednesday I hope to get at least half of the back 40 fences repaired. That ought to finish me for the day.

Hello lovely lady! 😊 I've been looking for Comfrey for a few years now and just found out that a lady that lives down the road from me has some. Her daughter told me that she'd be willing to give me a clipping to try to grow my own with and your post just reminded me that I needed to get in touch with her. Thanks. 😊 Yesterday we had a busy day here as well. It started like any other day. I made the tea and coffee, fed and watered the dogs, then headed outside to do fill the bird feeders and put out a few eggs for the Cravens, (Crows and Ravens combined as I can't tell them apart, for anyone who hasn't read a post of mine before and didn't know what Cravens were,) went over to the barn to let the chickens out, collect the eggs and say good morning to Prince Lee. After that I came in to get a few things done that I didn't want to forget about before the power went out, as we had a scheduled power outage from just before 9 am until 1245 pm, (it was scheduled until 230 pm, but they got it back on early,) which was nice as it gave me some time do other things. I spent my morning doing some mending that I'd been putting off as I didn't needle electricity to sew with, just the needle and thread and a lot of patience while trying to thread the needle, better eyes or a new prescription on my glasses would be helpful too, but they aren't affordable right now. LOL! 😊 Once the power was back on I was back to my usual routine of house cleaning, (after I made a new batch of energy balls for my handsome husband,) and that is when it happened. The hand I'd burnt three fingers on the night before, the one I'd been babying all day, decided it was time for a new wound to add to the collection. I sliced my pinky finger open on that same dang hand thanks to my depth perception issues due to my bad eyes and old prescription lenses. Oh well, at least I didn't lose any digits, just sliced into and burnt the tips of four of them. It's all good, they'll heal and then I'll probably do something else to them, that's just the kind of clutz I am, LOL! 😊 I see some notifications over on the right, so I'm going to go check them out before I finish my tea and have to get to work. Bummer about the glasses. It took a battle from September 2022 to April to get new glasses because the health insurance doesn't cover the type of lenses I need. But my eye doctor went to bat for me and now I have them. I am pretty blind without glasses, so I really feel for you not having ones to see well. I sure hope your hand heals quickly. Wicked wind here today, it's a wonder we didn't lose power. I was out in it for 2.5 hours fixing fence and it defeated me in the end. Hope your power comes on soon!

It is a bit of a bummer, but I'm used to it as I have needed new glasses for years now. The doctor going to bat for you is a rare blessing, I'm glad you have a good Optician. I can see far without my glasses but can't read or see up close without them and just haven't had the funds (we don't have insurance) to cover the cost of getting the exam and a new prescription, so that means I don't get them and life goes on. 😊 The thumb, index, middle and ring fingers are all only slightly burnt across the pads and a bit tender, (especially while I was washing the dishes in hot water this morning, they're not bad though, but my pinky finger is mad as a wet hen at me right now. I've banged it about a dozen times today, (while doing the dishes, just walking past things or getting slapped around by a dogs tail as we pass each other, which feels like being hit by something that's a cross between a horse whip and a Billy Club like the police carry,) several times as well. I never realized how many times I bang into things during the run of a day before, its no wonder I find bruises all over me and can't figure out where they came from...its me bashing off a cupboard or counter or table edge. I'm going to have to work on not doing it so often, save myself some black and blue marks. LOL! 😊 We have had a lot of crazy winds up here this spring too, wonder if its all the solar flares, the chem trails or something else completely? Our power was back on that same day, thankfully. Though if it hadn't been on I wouldn't have been able to use the rotisserie and most of my fingers would be happy. LOL! 😊
