This is the 14th post of the Manali Leh Highway series, in the previous posts of this series you have covered Himalayan Shepherds, Life of Changpa Tribe, Himalayan Rickshaw Run, Lahaul Valley, Maure Plains Tanglang La, Naki La, Leh, Rohtang Pass, Lahaul Valley and Maure Plains Viewed the landscapes of the storm and came to know about this colorful earth. Today in this series we will talk about the high snowy mountains located on the Manali Leh Highway.     All the mountains shown in this post are neighboring mountains of Mount Yunum. In 2019 I went to Yunam Peak for the summit. The height of this peak is 6140 meters. It took me two days to reach the summit and I started this expedition by summiting Mount Stok Kangri. This meant that I had summited two mountain peaks above 6000 meters back to back.     Many mountains higher than 6000 meters are scattered between Manali and Leh, some are small and some are more than 7000 meters high and all of them are covered with a white sheet of snow. We are able to see only those mountains which are along the highway while the rest of the mountain peaks remain untouched. Even today, there are many mountains in the Indian Himalayas on which humans have neither set foot nor seen them. It is true that there are many such mountains which humans have not even seen till now.     You can see the hanging glacier, cornice, glof and snow playing in the sun-shade courtyard in the photos of this post. Now people have also started coming to ski around Baralacha La. Well, I know some people from Solang Valley who have skied from the summit of Mount Yunam. For adventure lovers, this is such a big playground that a lifetime is not enough to see and climb it all.     Out of all these mountains, I have summited some of them, and some are so technical that they require a full team and professional gears to summit them. I also always do summits in alpine style...meaning, take dry ration and walk at speed and read directly towards the summit, doing this takes a lot of body strength and I feel that the chances of summit are also higher.
