 Have you ever walked on the cloud? Back to the day in 2018, we had a wonderful trip to Ta Xua (Son La) which is located in the North of Viet Nam, 200km away from Ha Noi. That is one of the famous cloud hunting spots in Vietnam, providing us an unforgettable experience when standing in the middle of floating clouds. However, not everyone who comes here for the first time can successfully hunt the clouds, it depends on the appropriate weather factors, the best time to visit is during October to April. Our trip was in October, when the season had just started. I would say that was not the best day for cloud hunting but the experience we got was incredible. That’s beautiful scenery hidden in the clouds, and those sweet, friendly locals encourage us to come back to this place one day.  We took the bus from Ha Noi to a small town called Bac Yen, had lunch and then rented a motorbike to head up to Ta Xua which is 15km away. By motorbike, Ta Xua is a challenging route, requiring lots of concentration on the riders. However, we got to see magnificent natural scenery, peaceful villages along the way.   Our purpose of this trip is to hunt the clouds in the early morning, because the best time to get the chance to walk on the clouds is before 7am, so we decided to stay one night. Ta Xua is a rural commune that is still underdeveloped. There were even no street lights. Therefore, this is also a very ideal place for watching the stars. If you are looking for a place for slowing down, and relaxing after the tiring days at work in the busy city, let’s put Ta Xua in the list. We woke up at 4.30 am when it was still dark and prepared to drive to the top of the hill to search for the clouds. Since we had travelled hundreds of kilometers to arrive here, we did not want to miss this only opportunity. We drove in the dark, through the clouds to get to the peak. The moment the sun came out painted the sky that magical pink color, we stood among the clouds, we walked on them, and watching the clouds filled the entire landscape, I will never ever forget.    When the sun is slowly getting high and the sky is getting brighter, that is the time the majestic mountains and forests hidden behind the cloudy clouds start to appear on our view.       We brought some snacks for the ethnic kids we met on the way. Most of the children here grow up in poverty, they were delighted when we gave them the candies and cakes.
