My Recent Blitz Game on Lichess with Analysis

The above position occurred in my recent game in lichess.com. It's a 3 minute blitz game where blunders and tactics happen in quick and exciting chess. Usually, chess and excitement don't go hand in hand but if you're playing blitz, it usually does.

The game started with the opening known as the Jobava London. It's a variation of the London System popularized by GM Jobava who is known for his enterprising attacks.  1. d4 Nf6 2. Nc3 d5 3. Bf4 c6 4. e3 Bf5

I don't like this opening when I play as White since I feel that the c-pawn is better placed in c3 and the Knight on d2. The game continued. 5. f3 e6 6. g4 Bg6

White plays aggressively and attacks on the King side even before castling. 7. h4 h5

I can't allow White to trap my Bishop on g6 so I played h5 myself. 8. g5 Nfd7 9. Bd3 Bxd3 10. Qxd3 g6

I'm quite familiar with the structure above having played similar positions as Black in the Caro-Kann. My plan is to put my Bishop on g7, Rook on e8 and push e6-e5. 11. Nge2 Bg7 12. Bg3 O-O 13. Nf4 e5 14. dxe5 Nxe5 15. Qe2 Re8 16. O-O-O Qa5

White castled in the opposite side. I saw a chance to attack. 17. Kb1 Nc4

Now we reached the position above. I'm threatening to capture his e3 pawn so he probably didn't see my deadlier threat on b2. 18. e4 Nxb2

A temporary piece sacrifice that exposes White's King. Black is already winning. 19. Kxb2 Qxc3+?

I captured with the wrong piece! Bxc3+ leads to checkmate. {19. ...Bxc3+ 20. Kb1 Qb4+ 21. Kc1 Qb2#} It would have been a more satisfying way to win but the game is over anyway. 20. Kc1 Qa3+ 21. Kd2 dxe4 22. fxe4 Qxg3 { White resigns. } 0-1
