Hello world!

So we finally have a community-supported blockchain :)

In this post, I would like to share my plans and what I aim to contribute toward the development of Hive.

# Relate

I have been secretly working on this project for a couple of months now. Relate is a content discovery and recommendation engine for social networks on the Hive blockchain. It's still under heavy development, but it's slowly nearing a more feature-complete state for an alpha release.

I will write a follow-up post sharing more details about its design and implementation goals. The GitHub repo only has a README for now, as the code is still somewhat in flux. I'll add code when I release an alpha version.

# Hivemind

The core Hivemind codebase that enables communities is still WIP and I'd like to help move it along. There are features that are yet to be implemented (according to the original roadmap). For example:

### Community types

There are three types of communities mentioned [in the docs](https://github.com/imwatsi/hivemind/blob/master/docs/communities.md#community-types)

1. **Topic**: anyone can post or comment
2. **Journal**: guests can comment but not post. only members can post.
3. **Council**: only members can post or comment

Right now, only *Topic* communities are being created. There is an [open issue](https://github.com/steemit/hivemind/issues/263) on GitHub by @roadscape where he shares some considerations.

I think it'll be useful to start a discussion around this, so I'll make subsequent posts on that.

# Hivemind X

I have been working on Hivemind X for a while now and brought Native Ads to beta. I am now working on coding the other features on the roadmap:

- Discussion Rooms [WIP]
- Tips/Donations [WIP]

I'd like to get a node up soon, so front-ends can test the features. I had [a conversation](https://peakd.com/hive-139531/@emrebeyler/announcing-a-new-hivemind-communuties-node-https-hivemind-communities-emrebeyler-me-hive-139531) with @emrebeyler a while back in which he showed interest in running a Hivemind X node. I'll make subsequent posts to discuss this as well.
