Stuck in a bad Situation? Handle it like a Boss!
So today I came across a rather funny situation at the gym. Before talking about it, I have to mention that I am the kind of person that tries to stay far, far away from drama happening anywhere, whether it’s in the home, university, office, gym, market, my van or just literally anywhere. This world consists of many different types of people and to be able to succeed in life, whether you agree with it or not, you need people to walk with you. You never know who you would need in life. To be able to live in this world peacefully, one of the most important elements is acceptance. We often don’t try to understand a situation and instead start arguing or even fighting out of anger. The best way to deal with people is always to show compassion and understanding towards each other. You may come across various random situations which you later think about and realize that you could’ve handled it differently.

So today, two girls started fighting at the gym over class schedule. To be honest, it wasn’t as big of a problem as it became. I was standing there, a bit confused and later throughout the class, I was trying to analyze what just happened and how it could’ve been handled in a better way. As I was thinking about it, I thought of going through people’s views on the topic. Needless to say, I’ve come across some really interesting tips on how to handle situations in a better way. Here are my favorite ones:

**Calm Down and then React!**

I know this is really easier said than done. When you are in a situation that seems to be getting out hands and you start losing your temper or find yourself in a state of shock, you really need to first calm down so that your mind is in a state to think about what’s happening and then react to it. As you calm down, you start thinking more reasonably and your thought are collected and clear. This makes you react in a way that you don’t have to regret later. Mostly when we are angry, we react in ways that later make us feel so guilty and we keep thinking about how we could’ve dealt with it in a better way. No matter how you are feeling, relax your mind and then present your argument or opinion.

**Vent it out – With the Right People:**

We often hold onto situations for too long and this doesn’t harm anybody but us. Sometimes we want to say something but decide not to say it and then later regret not saying that out loud. To feel free, we have to let go of situations that have passed instead of thinking about them. One way to do this to talk to people who are close to our souls and with whom we share a goof collection. No matter how much of an introvert you are, as a human being, you do need to vent out your feeling every once in a while. You will be amazed at how relaxed you will feel. Moreover, if something similar happens later, you would know how to deal with it.

**Were you wrong? Admit it!**

A lot of people have a habit of defending themselves even when deep inside they do know that they are wrong! I am not proud of it, but I too was once like that and always found excuses for my faults. When I would find myself in a situation where I was wrong, I would never admit it. It was later in my life that I realized that I would never be able to truly grow until and unless I accept my mistakes. Anybody who blocks themselves from their own mistakes is harming themselves more than other people. Acceptance open gates to peace and trust me, it’s actually a good feeling!

**Don’t be too judgemental – Think Positive:**

We live in a society that is too quick to jump to conclusions based on assumptions and most of these assumptions are a result of judgemental thoughts. We are all so ready to deny our mistakes and judge others. Again, that doesn’t harm anybody, but your own mind peace. Try to stay positive and think positive. Negative thoughts actually put your mind in a state of doubts all the time. You become sceptical and often bossy as well while positive thoughts make you focus on bigger things in life.

**Talk or listen to somebody who inspires and motivates you:**

Good and bad situations are a part of life. Sometimes we take negative situations so seriously that we end up in depression and often forget our aims during the process. This makes us also take some bad decisions and being unclear in our thoughts. At times like these when we need to be reminded of the good things in life, our aims and everything else that is important, we should talk to that one person who we consider as our guidance. Everybody has that one person with whom they find motivation and inner peace. Even if you don’t, you can simply attend one of those motivational speaking programs that make you participate in activities and let you be more open and expressive about your thoughts.
