Hi all,

ever felt the notion to learn a programming language but you never found a good way to approach this journey? There is a batch of new possibilities out there to get into contact with a programming language in a playful way, available directly on your smartphone to make it easy to practice wherever you are.

Today, I am picking one of those and will highlight it a bit more, **the app is called [Grasshopper](https://grasshopper.app/) and is produced and maintained by Google**. It is available both in the Apple app store as well as in the Play store and there is also a web version to be used on a normal computer.

**Grasshopper is covering the basics of Javascript, HTML, CSS, and even features some interesting libraries like D3, with which you can do animations directly in the Javascript code.**

The steps and tasks you have to perform in the app are easy to understand and you directly can see if you have done it right or not. There is a huge hint section available in order to help if got stuck somehow. 

Do not get me wrong you will not be a Javascript pro after finishing this program but you will have a lot more insights and the basic knowledge to venture onwards.

Hi zusammen,

wolltet ihr schon mal eine Programmiersprache erlernen habt aber keinen Weg gefunden wie ihr das am besten machen könnt? Es gibt seit einer ganzen Weile einen bunten Strauß an Möglichkeiten, angepasst auf viele verschiedene Typen und Lernmöglichkeiten. Viele davon arbeiten sehr spielerisch und einige kann man direkt auf dem Smartphone ausführen, so dass man quasi überall üben und trainieren kann.

Als erstes will ich euch [Grasshopper](https://grasshopper.app/) vorstellen, eine App die von Google geschrieben und erweitert wird. Die App ist im Apple App Store und auch im Google Play Store enthalten und kann kostenlos installiert werden, darüberhinaus gibt es auch noch eine Web Version die man direkt auf dem Computer ausführen kann.

**Grasshopper behandelt die Grundlagen von Javascript, CSS, HTML und eine nützliche Bibliotheken wie zum Beispiel die D3 Bibliothek mit der man Animationen direkt in Javascript erstellen kann**

Die einzelnen Tasks und Schritte sind leicht verständlich aufgebaut und man kann direkt den Erfolg überprüfen, sollte mal nicht alles gleich auf Anhieb funktionieren gibt es eine große Hilfe-Sektion in der man immer nützliche Tipps finden kann.

Natürlich ist man nach Abschluss der einzelnen Kurse kein absoluter JS Pro, aber man hat wichtige Grundlagen erlernt die einem den weiteren Weg weisen können.

Gute Idee! Ich find's super, wenn's spielerisch zugeht und nicht nur für'n Zeitvertreib. Ich hab eine Zeit lang https://codecombat.com ausprobiert. Ich währe vermutlich dabei geblieben, wenn auch mein Sohn (damals 8) sich schon dafür interessiert hätte. Mal sehen, vielleicht haben er oder seine Schwester eines Tages interesse. Da bin ich dann sofort wieder dabei!!
