Uno de los géneros que normalmente se me escapa, pero que siempre me agrada ver es todo lo que se refiere al Western, me considero fan de la acción, así que los que hemos visto películas de este género sabremos que normalmente el guion tiende a envolverse en tramas llenas de pistoleros y personajes que simplemente desean poder y riqueza, por lo que optan por la intimidación y la violencia desenfrenada (mucha acción), un mundo sin reglas más que una pistola y un puñado de balas, un contexto en el cual se puede desarrollar miles de historias y tramas interesantes para espectadores de todas partes del mundo.

En español el filme se llama "La Leyenda Regresa", en inglés "Old Henry", quizás el nombre no tiene mucho atractivo, menos en el caso de título en inglés, sin embargo, en español despierta inmediatamente la curiosidad. Asociamos "leyendas" en el viejo oeste a famosos e impresionantes pistoleros, eso le otorga al menos al título en español un condimento especial para el amante del género y la acción, a decir verdad esa misma sensación fue la que me atrajo al filme. 


### Historia Bien Narrada


Siempre he pensado que para hacer un buen filme se necesita tener un buen recurso literario, más allá de los efectos especiales y toda la tecnología que se aplique dentro de la producción, lo importante o esencial desde mi punto de vista es la historia, después de todo, no todos tienen el mismo presupuesto que monstruos de la industria, así que luego de ver tantas películas cada vez valoramos más aquellas que con poco presupuesto nos mantienen entretenidos de principio a fin con una narrativa ligera pero muy bien desarrollada. 


Ese es el caso de esta filme, quizás no nos muestra algo innovador desde un punto de vista del guion, sin embargo, el desarrollo del argumento va haciendo que el filme sea entretenido, manteniendo un ritmo pausado en los primeros minutos que de a poco va acelerando hasta el momento principal con el propio estilo wéstern​.

El filme nos introduce en un contexto que parece normal para la época, de hecho por momentos sentimos como un estancamiento en el argumento, pero es solo para sorprendernos en más adelante. Se introduce la típica relación padre e hijo que tanto ha decorado películas en muchas décadas.


Un hijo que desea una vida diferente y un padre que por alguna razón lo sobreprotege, siendo el escudo su trabajo ilimitado dentro de la pequeña granja que ambos poseen. 


### Intriga


El filme nos otorga casi de inmediato una pequeña dosis de intriga que poco a poco va aumentando, no sabemos cuál de los personajes está mintiendo hasta avanzar un poco en el filme, ¿en quién confiar en ese lugar sin reglas o justicia?, solo un anciano y su hijo quienes deberán luchar por su propia supervivencia.

### Personajes


Otro punto a favor dentro de la historia es como se desenvuelven los personajes, tanto los principales y secundarios, incluyendo a ese grupo de enemigos que con su líder simplemente le otorgan a este filme esa dosis wéstern​ que hemos venido a ver. 

Este filme nos recuerda que no debemos juzgar a las personas, así como siempre nos han enseñado a no juzgar un libro por su portada, así también ocurre con las personas, independientemente de su situación o incluso su oficio. 


Me gustó el antagonista, me parece un villano que despiadado con todo lo que caracteriza a este género, pero no solo la fuerza bruta marca su comportamiento, también es astuto, estratega e incluso nota aspectos del comportamiento de los demás como la empuñadura del arma, su forma de sostenerla así como unir piezas claves que terminan por despertar una inmensa curiosidad sobre el viejo Henry lo cual le da emoción al argumento.

### Acción

Así como lo mencioné al principio de esta reseña, el filme se basa en narrarnos una historia entretenida, de fácil entendimiento, pero que resulte positiva para el espectador, no es de esos filmes que se centran en la acción aplastante para captar la atención, sin embargo, no se puede negar que hay algo acción muy bien dirigida. 


Hay acción al estilo wéstern​, persecuciones, disparos impresionantes e incluso mucha habilidad con las armas, hay algunas muertes importantes que le otorgan un buen condimento a esas escenas e incluso se revelan algunos misterios ocultos.

### Opinión Final


Es un filme que nos cuenta una interesante historia y que se va desarrollando correctamente, no se necesitó efectos especiales impresionantes, piruetas complejas o batallas con una coreografía excepcional, este filme nos introduce en el género wéstern​ con mucho realismo, sin tantas exageraciones a las cuales nos estamos sobre acostumbrando en el cine o en los servicios de streaming. 


Con una historia sencilla, bien relatada, algunas escenas bien dirigidas de acción, logra captar la atención del amante del género wéstern​ e incluso a optar por el agrado de un público más generalizado debido a la sencillez del argumento y a la construcción del buen recurso literario plasmado en el guion.

### ¿La Recomiendo?

Sí, es un filme que si bien no es perfecto y quizás no es de esas películas que serán muy recordadas, siento que logra el objetivo de entretener, de saber satisfacer las exigencias de un público cada vez más difícil, pero contando con un presupuesto limitado y basándose en la construcción de esa historia interesante, eso es lo que me ha agradado de este filme. 


Así que si te agrada el género wéstern​ te invito a conocer al viejo Henry, el cual te sorprenderá indudablemente.

One of the genres that usually escapes me, but that I always enjoy watching is everything that refers to the Western, I consider myself a fan of action, so those of us who have seen movies of this genre will know that usually the script tends to wrap itself in plots full of gunfighters and characters who simply want power and wealth, so they opt for intimidation and unbridled violence (lots of action), a world with no rules other than a gun and a handful of bullets, a context in which thousands of interesting stories and plots can be developed for viewers from all over the world.

In Spanish the film is called "La Leyenda Regresa", in English "Old Henry", perhaps the name does not have much appeal, less in the case of English title, however, in Spanish immediately arouses curiosity. We associate "legends" in the old west to famous and impressive gunfighters, that gives at least the Spanish title a special spice for the lover of the genre and action, to tell the truth that same feeling was what attracted me to the film. 


# Story Well Told


I have always thought that to make a good film you need to have a good literary resource, beyond the special effects and all the technology that is applied within the production, the important or essential from my point of view is the story, after all, not everyone has the same budget as monsters in the industry, so after seeing so many movies we value more and more those that with little budget keep us entertained from beginning to end with a light but very well developed narrative. 


That is the case of this film, maybe it doesn't show us something innovative from a script point of view, however, the development of the plot makes the film entertaining, keeping a slow pace in the first minutes that gradually accelerates until the main moment with its own wéstern style.

The film introduces us in a context that seems normal for the time, in fact at times we feel a stagnation in the plot, but it is only to surprise us later. It introduces the typical father and son relationship that has decorated films for many decades.


A son who desires a different life and a father who for some reason overprotects him, the shield being his unlimited work within the small farm they both own. 


### Intrigue


The film gives us almost immediately a small dose of intrigue that gradually increases, we do not know which of the characters is lying until we advance a little in the film, who to trust in that place without rules or justice, only an old man and his son who must fight for their own survival.

Another point in favor within the story is how the characters are developed, both the main and secondary, including that group of enemies that with their leader simply give this film that dose wéstern that we have come to see. 

This film reminds us not to judge people, just as we have always been taught not to judge a book by its cover, so it is with people, regardless of their situation or even their profession. 


I liked the antagonist, he seems to me a villain that ruthless with everything that characterizes this genre, but not only brute force marks his behavior, he is also cunning, strategist and even notices aspects of the behavior of others such as the grip of the gun, his way of holding it as well as joining key pieces that end up arousing immense curiosity about the old Henry which gives excitement to the argument.

As I mentioned at the beginning of this review, the film is based on telling us an entertaining story, easy to understand, but positive for the viewer, it is not one of those films that focus on overwhelming action to capture the attention, however, it can not be denied that there is some very well-directed action. 

There's some great Western-style action, chases, impressive shooting and even a lot of gun skills, there are some major deaths that spice up those scenes and even some hidden mysteries are revealed.

### Final Opinion


It is a film that tells us an interesting story and that develops correctly, it did not need impressive special effects, complex pirouettes or battles with an exceptional choreography, this film introduces us to the wéstern genre with a lot of realism, without so many exaggerations to which we are getting used to in the cinema or in streaming services. 


With a simple story, well told, some well-directed scenes of action, it manages to capture the attention of the lover of the wéstern genre and even to opt for the liking of a more generalized audience due to the simplicity of the plot and the construction of the good literary resource embodied in the script.

### Do I recommend it?

Yes, it is a film that although it is not perfect and perhaps not one of those films that will be very remembered, I feel that it achieves the goal of entertaining, of knowing how to meet the demands of an increasingly difficult audience, but with a limited budget and based on the construction of this interesting story, that's what I liked about this film. 


So if you like the wéstern genre I invite you to get to know old Henry, which will undoubtedly surprise you.
