But the gist is π > Twenty days of fast and furious writing, reading, commenting and having fun. Every day for twenty days, there will be a new prompt focusing on a different aspect of writing each day from character development and dialogue to setting and style and everything in between.  > Write down five emotions (for example, anger, joy, sadness, fear, hatred) on slips of paper and slip them into a hat or other container. Now pick an object inside or outside where you are writing - a tree, a picture, a window. Draw one emotion from the container, and try to describe that object from the perspective of a character feeling that emotion. (Donβt mention the emotion in your writing β try to describe the object so the reader could guess the emotion).  Old habits die hard. Sometimes I still hide in the corner and watch the door. A neighbour shuffling, the wind rustling, the dog barking, or maybe it's him. Sometimes I wonder if it was all a dream, a nightmare. Maybe it never happened, and it was only in my head. And then, I'd wish I could do it again. Again and again, because enough was enough. For the times, he made Lil Suzie cry. For the times he left bruises on Mama's arms and face. For the times, he- he- Maybe we let it go too far, maybe we acted too late. But that day came and I have no regrets. Luke said he'd handle the body and once he got home, we'd not talked about it. We pretended that day never was. But in my head, I play it over and over again. The sttacato stands out in your work, but no more than the narrative which is excellent, maybe you could better describe the events, give more details of how they happened, but it kept me interested until the end. Hello @kaerpediem . I can feel the staccato in the sharpness of the "ing" short sentences. It broke up the narrative well. I'd like to know a little about that final day when he met his match after the two children had "had enough". What was the trigger? I feel the emotion being **fear** for what happened leading up to the decision. The day he met his demise, was probably **anticipation and fear** whether the deed could actually be pulled off. Feels like the deed happened away from home. Maybe not. Afterward I feel the emotion is **relief** to be rid of him. Thanks for sharing this emotionally charged piece.
