Hi, everyone! In this episode of Chain Chatter, we delve into VSC with @vaultec . VSC introduces to Hive one of the long-awaited features that, together with our speed and zero fees, enhances our competitiveness in the market against other blockchains: Smart Contracts.

Hive is highly competitive in terms of speed and fees, but there's more to crypto and blockchains than just that. We need to offer what users can already do on other blockchains because if they can't accomplish the same tasks here as they can on Ethereum, they may not switch even if it's free.

With VSC, it's now possible to write Smart Contracts, addressing a long-term need on Hive and serving as a significant selling point in the market. VSC supports various types of tokens and NFTs, which Vaultec explains will fill a gap that Hive has experienced.

Furthermore, contracts can be written in multiple programming languages, making it accessible for developers to use languages they already know rather than learning new ones.

Another exciting feature of VSC is the ability to wrap Bitcoin and perform swaps.

It certainly is exciting to see more development and a path forward to increase the functionality.  There is really a lot built here and when I look at these different ecosystems I'm always trying to figure out which on is going to make it an unstoppable ecosystem.  I have studied ICP a lot and there is a lot of promise there as well.  With this we sort of built the community first and then have increased functionality but with ICP it sort of had the structure first and then there have been various social apps that have popped up there and become a spot where people are connecting.
