Muchos los conocen, otros no tienen idea de quienes son pero somos muy pocos los que nos hemos dado a la tarea de conocer como armar toda la historia, el mundo alterno que ha creado <strong>Twenty One Pilots</strong> en estos 13 años aproximadamente, sin embargo, este lore es tan amplio y complejo que mejor lo dejo para un post aparte.

Conocí a esta banda hace 9 años, desde el primer momento quedé enganchada y  he pasado todos estos años escuchando cada una de sus canciones, los dos álbumes que han sacado desde entonces <em>(Trench, Scaled & Icy)</em> sin olvidar los que ya existían cuando los conocí <em>(Twenty One Pilost, Regional At Best, Blurryface)</em>; después de mucho tiempo de inactividad, <strong>TOP</strong> volvió a sacar música y aunque planeo hacer un post de este nuevo álbum llamado <em>Clancy</em>, empezaré hablando de mis canciones favoritas de <strong>Twenty One Pilost</strong>.

Recuerden que mis Top musicales siempre van de menos a más importante, en esta oportunidad haré una excepción y agregaré una canción adicional.

Amo la energía de esta canción, la escuchaba todos los días cuando iba a mi antigua universidad debido a que el camino era bastante largo y tedioso, aparte de que tenía que levantarme muy temprano por la mañana para poder llegar a tiempo así que esta canción era esa dosis de energía que necesitaba para activarme.

La versión oficial es increíble pero mi favorita siempre fue esta versión del vídeo debido al fragmento que grabaron con el audio de un concierto, siento que esa energía se transmitió muchísimo y era lo que necesitaba en el momento; gracias a esta canción sueño con ir a un concierto de <strong>Twenty One Pilots</strong> porque algo que los caracteriza es lo mucho que interactúan con el publico y eso debe ser una experiencia de otro mundo conociendo lo locos que están <strong>Tyler</strong> y <strong>Josh</strong>.

Esta fue la primera canción que conocí, de hecho, gracias a esta que se hicieron bastante conocidos, por alguna razón conecté tanto con ella que recuerdo perfectamente la primera vez que la escuché; yo veía mucho un canal de música que se llamaba <strong>Beat Tv</strong>, si mal no recuerdo ya no existe pero solo transmitían videos musicales y yo pasaba todo el día viéndolo, recuerdo que estaba haciendo tarea cuando <em>Stressed Out</em> empezó a sonar y yo dejé todo de lado para ver el vídeo.

Me pareció una genialidad de principio a fin, su sonido era muy distinto a lo que sonaba en esa entonces y creo que ese fue el principal atractivo de ellos; después de escuchar como unas 10 veces la canción, decidí investigar quienes eran y henos aquí, 9 años después emocionada porque saldrá el álbum que le dará cierre a toda la historia de <strong>Dema</strong> y <em>Clancy</em>.

Es increíble que el primer single de su nuevo álbum se haya convertido en una de mis canciones favoritas apenas se estreno, les juro que no puedo parar de escucharla, la puedo poner en bucle y no me voy a cansar de escucharla; si esta canción hubiese existido en el 2017/2018 también formara parte de ese grupo selecto de canciones que escuchaba para activarme en las mañanas como <em>Lane Boy</em>.


<em>Overcompensate</em> es una dosis de adrenalina pura, desde que empieza sientes esa energía que te para de la silla y te quiere hacer correr por toda la cuadra unas 3 vueltas; el inicio de la canción es lo que más significado tiene para mí debido a que utiliza el mantra que nos entrego en mi canción favorita de ellos, de la cual hablaré más adelante. Escuchar el <strong>Sahlo Folina</strong> hizo que no existiera parte de mi cuerpo que no se erizara, quería cantarlo a todo volumen sin importar mis vecinos ni nadie a mi alrededor; la transición de una canción a el nuevo ritmo es increíble, de verdad pudiera pasar toda la tarde exponiendo porque esta canción es el mejor regreso que pudieron hacer los chicos pero me limitaré a decir que fue una excelente introducción a esta nueva era de <em>Clancy</em>

Ya a partir de aquí entramos en canciones más personales, las cuales son mis favoritas no necesariamente por el ritmo sino por su significado; <em>Kitchen Sink</em> es el perfecto ejemplo de que nunca vas a entender a nadie y nadie te va a entender a ti como tú mismo lo haces, lo que tiene valor para ti, lo que te conmueve, lo que te motiva, lo que te duele, lo que te hace feliz solo tú lo vas a sentir, solo tú lo vas a entender y aunque en ciertas situaciones eso puede llegar a ser muy frustrante, creo que es hermoso tener una percepción única ante la vida y lo que esta nos ofrece.

Desde la primera vez que escuche esta canción me conmoví demasiado, aunque todavía es algo que me cuesta hacer, he aprendido a no compararme ni esperar que los demás me entiendan o sientan lo que yo estoy sintiendo exactamente, parecerá cursi pero esta canción me enseño eso como también el ser empático con todos sin importar las circunstancias porque nadie sabe qué esta pasando realmente en la vida del otro y mucho menos como esa persona pueda estar lidiando con eso, lo importante es escucharlo pero sobre todo, darle a entender que no esta solo así no entiendas la gravedad de la situación.

Si tuviese que elegir en la canción con más significado para mí de <strong>Twenty One Pilots</strong>, sin dudas elegiría <em>My Blood</em>; mi hermana y yo pasamos muchos años separadas por diversas circunstancias, estuvimos casi 4 años sin hablarnos y llegué a pensar que nunca volvería a convivir con ella. Esa situación me afectó mucho debido a que mi hermana y yo siempre fuimos muy unidas, el día de mi graduación ella asistió y fue cuando todo se arregló, desde ese entonces nuestra relación se ha estrechado muchísimo al punto que la considero como un pilar fundamental en mi vida, más que mi hermana es mi mejor amiga.

Esta canción es para ella, siempre me vino a la mente cuando la escuchaba y cuando supe que ella también me encantaba <strong>TOP</strong>, fue como una confirmación de que esta canción es para ella. <strong>Anna</strong> tiende a encerrarse cuando tiene problemas, se aísla de todos y es muy difícil que hablé de lo que siente, gracias a esa temporada cuando vivimos juntas, ella pudo encontrar un lugar seguro en mí donde puede expresar y desahogar todo lo que siente sin ser juzgada, aparte de que las dos vivimos situaciones que nos marcaron negativamente juntas y eso nos ha estrechado más como hermanas. Daría la vida por mi hermana, aunque es mi hermana mayor, siempre la cuidaré y la protegeré de todo, ella se convirtió en mi principal apoyo, mi pilar, mi confidente, mi lugar seguro y todos los días intento devolvérselo.

If I had to choose the song with the most meaning for me from <strong>Twenty One Pilots</strong>, without a doubt I would choose <em>My Blood</em>; my sister and I spent many years separated due to different circumstances, we spent almost 4 years without talking to each other and I thought I would never live with her again. Tal vez esta canción no tenga un significado tan importante como las dos anteriores, su significado real se lo da un poco el lore ue ha creado la banda y creo que por eso es una de las canciones más importantes dentro del <strong>Clique</strong>; el ritmo, el significado, el peso que tiene dentro de la historia pero sobre todo, el mantra de <strong>SAHLO FOLINA</strong>, es chistoso porque nadie sabe realmente que significa, es algo que simplemente pudo haber inventado Tyler, Josh o es un juego de palabras que aún no se ha descifrado, hay mil teorías y posibles respuestas pero no sabremos hasta que uno de los muchachos lo confirme. Aunque no sabemos nada de su significado, tiene un gran valor y lo confirmamos cuando lo volvemos a a escuchar en <em>Overcompensate</em>.

Todavía no entiendo qué es lo que tiene esta canción que la hace tan especial para mí, desde el primer momento que la escuché fue como pausar el mundo por 5 minutos, la paz y serenidad que me genera es algo que no he podido encontrar en otro sitio; han pasado los años, hay casi 7 álbumes con un acumulado de más de 80 canciones y no existe ninguna que me genere la plenitud que <em>Bandito</em> provoca. Esta es esa canción que escucho cuando estoy bajo mucho estrés, cuando siento que estoy perdiendo el control de mis emociones o cuando ya siento que me estoy ahogando en mis propios pensamientos, no sé si esa era la intención de Tyler a escribirla pero si lo es, lo logró.

Quise agregar una canción más porque realmente no podía sustituir ninguna de las anteriores pero tampoco podía dejar por fuera la canción que me inspiró a escribir este post, literalmente <em>Next Semester</em> salió hoy 27 de Marzo y aunque no me gustó tanto como lo hizo <em>Overcompensate</em>, no fue hasta que leí la letra en español que todo cobro sentido.

Algo que me atormenta mucho son esos pensamientos de <em>"Que hubiese pasado si..."</em> me he arrepentido de muchas cosas que hecho como las que no por miedo, cuando estos pensamientos vienen a mí, la ansiedad viene con ellos; últimamente he estado muy estresada por la universidad, siento que ya debería haberme graduado hace mucho pero cada vez veo la meta más lejos, siento mucha presión a mi alrededor y aun no encuentro un rumbo fijo.

Básicamente esta canción habla sobre la ansiedad, describe casi a la perfección un ataque de pánico y muchas de las cosas que están en la letra me resonaron demasiado pero no fue hasta la parte final, cuando Tyler después de mucho tiempo vuelve a sacar su distintivo Ukelele que empecé a llorar; sentí que él me hablaba a mí específicamente, sobre todo porque está mirando a la cámara justo en ese momento y toda esa escena fue como una gran palmada en la espalda que te dice <em>"tranquilo, levántate y quítate el polvo, tu puedes seguir adelante"</em> y creo que esa era la intención de los chicos, por eso la canción tiene un ritmo demasiado anímico y justo ahí es cuando todo se vuelve más tranquilo, más íntimo.

I wanted to add one more song because I couldn't really replace any of the previous ones but I couldn't leave out the song that inspired me to write this post, literally <em>Next Semester</em> came out today March 27th and although I didn't like it as much as <em>Overcompensate</em> did, it wasn't until I read the lyrics in Spanish that it all made sense.

Something that torments me a lot are those thoughts of <em>"What would have happened if..."</em> I've regretted many things I've done as well as the things I didn't because of fear, when these thoughts come to me, anxiety comes with them; lately I've been very stressed about college, I feel like I should have graduated a long time ago but every time I see the goal further away, I feel a lot of pressure around me and I still can't find a fixed course.

Basically this song talks about anxiety, it almost perfectly describes a panic attack and a lot of the things in the lyrics resonated with me too much but it wasn't until the final part, when Tyler after a long time pulls out his signature Ukelele again that I started to cry; I felt like he was talking to me specifically, especially because he's looking at the camera right at that moment and that whole scene was like a big pat on the back saying <em>"chill, get up and dust yourself off, you can move on"</em> and I think that was the guys' intention, that's why the song has an overly anthemic beat and right there is when everything becomes calmer, more intimate.

En lo personal considero que Twenty One Pilots es una de las mejores bandas de esta era, más allá de su música, su sonido, sus conciertos o todo el concepto que han creado desde Vessel, es la cercanía, el cuidado y amor que le tienen a su fandom, al <strong>Clique</strong>; nos han mantenido por años a la expectativa, creando hipótesis, buscando pruebas, pistas y ya estamos llegando al fin de una era.

Tyler es una persona que conoce muy bien la tristeza, la depresión, aunque ya salió de ese hueco horrible gracias a Josh y ahorita tiene una familia hermosa, él sabe cómo llegar a las personas que están atravesando situaciones difíciles y cómo brindarles un apoyo así sea algo intangible; TOP es una de mis bandas favoritas y de verdad espero que este no sea su retiro como se ha estado rumoreando, este nuevo álbum Clancy será épico y no me cabe duda de ello.
