Besuch im NS-Dokumentationszentrum - Sonderausstellung "TO BE SEEN - queer lives 1900-1950"

Vor kurzem war ich im NS-Dokumentationszentrum in München:

Die Dauerausstellung dort wird durch Sonderausstellungen ergänzt. **Bis zum 21. Mai 2023** ist das "TO BE SEEN - queer lives 1900-1950"

Wie ihr euch sicher denken könnt, ist das kein einfaches Thema. Naturgemäß war die Ausstellung - insbesondere die Dauerausstellung - sehr bedrückend. Aber auch extrem interessant.

Die allgemeinen Umständen sollten natürlich allen bekannt sein. Insbesondere die Details, einzelnen Geschichten und Bilder waren mir aber neu und bringen einem die Geschehnisse näher.

Solltet ihr die Gelegenheit haben, geht gerne mal dorthin. Der Eintritt ist kostenlos!

Vor allem auch die Sonderausstellung kann ich empfehlen! Darin wird nicht nur die Verfolgung "queerer" Menschen während der NS-Zeit thematisiert, sondern auch deren Entwicklung, Vorgeschichte (z.B. in den 20er-Jahre), Folgen und mehr. Meist anhand konkreter Schicksale.

Wenn ein Eintritt kostenlos ist, bin ich immer vorsichtig. Wenn der Staatsapparat will, dass ich bestimmte Inhalte sehe, verzichte ich meist, unabhängig vom Thema, denn meistens steckt Propaganda dahinter.

Gewisse Vorsicht ist sicher nicht verkehrt. Ich denke aber, dass es Themen gibt, bei denen es wichtig ist, dass der Zugang nicht vom Geldbeutel abhängen darf.

Das ist m. E. ein klarer Fall davon. Umso mehr, als die Stadt München in der Geschichte des Nationalsozialismus eine wesentliche Rolle gespielt hat. Die (leider in vielen Bereichen unzureichende) Aufarbeitung in der Nachkriegszeit ist übrigens auch Bestandteil der Ausstellung.
