One of the things I liked most about Ushuaia was that everything around it is so beautiful, that even routine outings showed you beautiful places. The location of this city is truly privileged, and wherever you look, you find beautiful scenery. The hostel where I was volunteering during my stay there was eight blocks from the center, so every time I went out to do something, I had to stop by. <strong>This meant I never got tired of seeing it, nor did I return home without taking a photo 😃.</strong>

<blockquote>Una de las cosas que más me gustaba de Ushuaia era que todo es tan lindo alrededor, que hasta las salidas rutinarias te mostraban lugares lindos. La ubicación de esta ciudad es realmente privilegiada, y mires para donde mires, encontrás buenos paisajes. El hostel en donde estaba haciendo mi voluntariado durante mi estadía ahí quedaba a ocho cuadras del centro, por lo que cada vez que salía a hacer algo, obligatoriamente tenía que pasar por él. <strong>Esto hacía que no me cansara de verlo, ni que me vuelva a casa sin alguna foto 😃.</strong>

One of the trips I made toward the city center was to the market. It was 15 blocks from the hostel, almost on the Beagle Channel waterfront, so I always tried to take a different route to get there. In the nearly six months I was there, I managed to explore almost all the street options. One of my favorites was the one that took you past the city's observation deck. From there, you could see the first houses in Ushuaia and the cemetery, located right in the middle of the entire neighborhood.

Este quedaba a 15 cuadras del hostel, casi en la costanera del Canal de Beagle, por lo que siempre trataba de tomar un camino diferente para llegar a él. En los casi seis meses que estuve, logré conocer casi todas las opciones de calles para llegar. Una de mis favoritas era la que te hacía pasar por el mirador de la ciudad. Desde él se podían ver las primeras casas de Ushuaia y el cementerio, ubicado justo en medio de toda la urbanización.

This viewpoint consists of a series of wooden walkways. Since the city of Ushuaia is built almost on the mountainside, the streets incline upwards as you move away from the canal. This is something you should keep in mind when planning your accommodations during your trip. I was eight blocks from the center, and five of those blocks had a very steep incline. Some guests complained a bit about this, but at least it helped me stay in shape.

Como la ciudad de Ushuaia está construida casi sobre la ladera de las montañas, cada vez que te alejas del canal, las calles van hacia arriba. Esto es algo que tenes que tener en cuenta a la hora de planificar en donde será tu alojamiento durante el viaje. Yo estaba a ocho cuadras del centro y cinco de ellas tenían una pendiente muy pronunciada. Algunos huéspedes se quejaban un poco de esto, pero al menos a mí me sirvió para mantenerme en forma.

After strolling around a bit and doing my shopping at the market, I went outside and got some good views of the canal, but this time at sunset. It gets dark very late in the summer in Ushuaia, and that's another thing I loved. The market closed at 10 PM, and I always arrived at the right time. Most of the time, this wasn't intentional, but with so much light all the time, you lose track of how late it is.

<blockquote>Después de pasear un poco y hacer mis compras en el mercado, salí y pude obtener unas buenas vistas del canal, pero esta vez a la hora del atardecer. En Ushuaia en verano oscurece muy tarde y eso es otra cosa que me encantaba. El mercado cerraba a las 10 PM y yo siempre iba sobre la hora. La mayoría de las veces esto no era a propósito, pero es que con tanta claridad todo el tiempo uno pierde noción de lo tarde que es.

Seeing a sunset after 10 PM was something that amazed me greatly on my first trip to Ushuaia, and this one as well. Having spent the entire summer there wasn't enough to stop me from being impressed. I love the outdoors, and being able to be outside for so long was a great thing. Not to mention the beautiful colors of the sunsets, which looked stunning over the Beagle Channel.

Y ni hablar de los hermosos colores de los atardeceres, que sobre el Canal de Beagle se veían hermosos.

I've lost count of all the times I visited the waterfront for various reasons. Whether it was to run errands, shop, meet people, go for a run, go for a stroll, or simply sit for a while and admire the scenery, this walk always left me in a good mood. The only "bad" thing was having to climb all those streets with my shopping bags in tow, but at least the walk offered a view of the mountains. It may have been a demanding walk back to the hostel, <strong>but at least there was no shortage of good scenery ❣️.</strong>

<blockquote>Perdí la cuenta de todas las veces que visité la costanera por diversos motivos. Ya sea para hacer trámites, compras, reunirme con gente, ir a correr, salir a dar una vuelta o simplemente para sentarme un rato a admirar el paisaje, este paseo siempre me dejaba de buen humor. Lo único "malo" era tener que subir todas esas calles con las bolsas de las compras a cuestas, pero al menos la caminata era con vista a las montañas. Podrá haber sido una vuelta al hostel exigente, <strong>pero al menos los buenos paisajes no faltaban ❣️.</strong>
