Childhood is really beautiful, every time we remember some memories, they always make us laugh because it always sounds funny and those memories are always amusing.

The dumbest thing I did when I a kid that I still remember vividly till today was my first day alone at my grandma's house. I followed my mom to visited my grandma and when we got there, my mom and my grandma went to the market to get foodstuffs but unfortunately the received a call on there way home that my uncle had an accident and they have to go to the hospital.

They saw one of my grandma's neighbor and send the stuff they bought through her, when I heard the knock on the door I hurriedly open the door with the hope to see my mom and grandma but I saw the neighbor instead who later explain what happened to me.

I was really hungry and I couldn't wait for them to come back and the little me didn't know what to do, I checked what they bought and I saw something I can eat but the problem is I have to prepare the stew I will use to eat it. I went to my friend's house maybe I could get her sister to help me but nobody was at their house, I think they went to the farm

 I looked at what I was holding thinking of where to started and I remembered that my mom always put oil in the pot whenever she wanted to prepare stew and I did the same. After five minutes, I thought it is the time to put onion and the other ingredients unknown to me that the oil have overheated and I just pour the onions and the next thing the pot catch fire and the flame started going up.

I don't know the next thing to do and I sat on the floor crying. Luckily for me, my friend elder sister came to check up on me and my mom since they told her that we are around and she met me in that state, she immediately started putting the fire off but I couldn't do anything because it was so frightening and I was in shock.

She helped me put the fire off and asked me what I was doing and I told her that I was hungry and I was trying to prepare what I will eat. she helped me to prepare the stew and she stay with me till me my mom and grandma came back before she went back to their house.

When I told my mom about what I did, I was just looking at me because she was lost of words, since that day I don't like going to the kitchen because of what happened. It was the most dumbest thing I ever did as a child. When I looked back at what I did, I blamed myself for being impatient, what if nobody showed up and I ended up burning the house down. That though alone makes me to stay away from the kitchen but it's unavoidable because I am a girl and need to learn how to cook.
