## ETH2 Genesis in 7 Days

The ETH2 deposit contract reached the staking threshold. 7 days after this launch requirement is met is when the ETH2 genesis occurs. This is big news for Ethereum and the entire crypto/DeFi space as we get closer to ETH2 and (hopefully) an exponential reduction in fees.

[@edicted wrote a great post](https://leofinance.io/@edicted/positive-feedback-loop) that discussed positive feedback loops and how they're playing out in the crypto space. 

We're seeing a culmination of several major factors which all lead to the next major crypto cycle. Post-BTC halving, ETH2, Alt season, Paypal and Greyscale.. even XRP's latest rally. 

## How High Will The Price of Ethereum Go on This Run?

[@scaredycatguide analyzed the ETH chart](https://leofinance.io/@scaredycatguide/how-high-will-the-price-of-ethereum-go-on-this-run) and came up with a few resistance levels for the price of Ethereum. As of this writing, his post was published 16 hours ago and he called the $625 resistance level perfectly.

The price of ETH bounced off this level late last night and has since returned to $600. Mitch's next target is $825 resistance. Will we see this in the coming week as alt strength returns and ETH2 gets closer to launching?

[Pomp Tweeted](https://twitter.com/APompliano/status/1331242135362924544) about BTC's performance relative to the S&P500 and Gold. Bitcoin is clearly the winner here and it's not just average investors anymore. Now it's the institutions and major investors jumping into the space.

We're seeing BTC flippen these old titans of traditional finance. Many call for BTC's market cap to skyrocket beyond that of major assets like Gold some day which would give it an insane valuation. 100% agree. The lower gas fees will lead to another surge in DeFi imo. The tools of DeFi are incredible and the barriers to entry are fees and usability. As both of those improve over the coming months/years, crypto will really heat up

Hopefully the bull run won't be so short like the one we had in 2017, it was really short. Twelve months looks decent and if it keeps increasing for twelve months we might just have 100k before the end of 2021.

The only issue that i have with many people hodling is that they keep all the crypto hoarded for bigger and bigger portfolio and never get their profits out to enjoy the real life.

It has been a pretty meteoric rise back up this year and even in the last 24 hours (at time of writing the comment), another big rise as PayPal are pretty much buying up every brand new minted Bitcoin from mining each day! I'm grabbing what I can but even on the daily cost averaging, seeing the amount of BTC you can get for a few dollars per day whittle away is mildly upsetting but at the same time, massively exciting!

I really hope that ETH 2.0 will help with scaling and dapps can start to work seamlessly. The masses are paying attention and dapps are the way to get them to use crypto and see the advantages without having to spend any money. We need them to run smooth if people are going to use them over apps.
