Greetings all

I wanted to share my experience with the latest horror game that was released not too long ago. Let me start off by saying I don't do horrors, at all. I am terrible at them. Hell, when I played Dead Space I was so panicked I couldn't get past a door because I couldn't think of how to open it. Spoiler; you had to shoot it. I had to have a friend come over and show me how to do it.

However, since that day, it has been my friend's (Theo) swore duty to get me to complete a horror game, as I never manage to finish them. So, every year before my birthday, which coincidentally is Halloween, he will buy me a game in hopes of me finishing it. He is yet to be successful in this. Yet, a few days ago he told me I had to at least play one round of this game he discovered. Begrudgingly I agreed, and he sent me The Mortuary Assistant via steam.

Now you see, Theo is smart, because this game combined two things I am interested in. Death (I'm studied to be a forensic Entomologist) and the supernatural. As a scientist that has been in a morgue before, what you have to do as a mortician in game is pretty damn close to the actual job (depending on where you are in the world). Yes, there is blood. Yes, there are weird squishy sounds.

Overall, the graphics aren't the best, and sometimes getting the game to react the way you want it to isn't perfect, but that isn't the beauty of this game. It knows how to lull you into a false sense of security. The premise of the game (without giving away too much) is that you are a mortuary assistant which attracts the attention of a or many demons in the mortuary where you work. During the night shift you have to deal with three bodies and determine which carries the demon, so you can cremate it.

While you're working on the bodies, weird stuff starts to happen, and I mean weird! Not the usual light flickering and murmurs, but full on possessed, creepy, body contorting weirdness! Now I haven't included any of those pictures because I'm sure I'll get grief for it, but when you least expect it, you have corpses walking around, contorting, and speaking.

So far I have made it through two shifts successfully, realised my fear instinct is to throw my keyboard at the screen, and start laughing my head off. I streamed a bit of it to my friend @pixelhuntersam and I'm sure she wished I had a camera so she could have seen my face.

All in all, I'd say this game is well worth the buy if you like creepy vibes, jump scares, and intense puzzles. Be prepared for things peering around the computer, hanging from the ceiling, and lights cutting out when you least expect.

Also, take a piece of advice from me, close all the doors you open, so you can keep track of what you open and close. You'll need this to note which of the bodies' have the most activity, and therefore the demon.
