*Hello, Daily Blog friends!* 
Today marks the fifth day of the *#hivearoundtheworld* initiative by @hivecreator, and for this occasion, I decided to showcase an emblematic place in my country—just a few meters from my home.  

The *Plaza de la Revolución* is a fundamental space in Havana, shaping both the daily rhythm and historical identity of the city. Located at Paseo and Rancho Boyeros Avenue, its presence is a constant in my neighborhood walks. From various angles, I see it stand out on the horizon—imposing and rich in meaning. Among its most remarkable features is the *José Martí Memorial*, a site that pays tribute to Cuba’s National Hero and offers one of the most breathtaking views of Havana.  

From the top of its lookout, the city unfolds as a mosaic of architecture, history, and daily life. The streets resemble strokes on a vibrant map, where colonial heritage, Art Deco, and modern structures coexist. In the distance, the sea acts as both a boundary and an extension, giving the sensation that the city does not simply end—it merges with the horizon.  

The monument's history dates back to the 1920s, when French urban planner *Jean Claude Nicolas Forestier* proposed relocating Havana’s geographical center to *Loma de los Catalanes*. His vision included a monument dedicated to Martí at the most privileged site. It wasn’t until the 1950s that the project finally took shape. This stunning five-pointed tower, rising toward the sky, symbolizes independence.

Walking through the memorial evokes a sense of grandeur and solemnity. *This structure* seems to engage in a dialogue with the city sprawling beneath it. From above, the view constantly shifts—sometimes lost within the intricate urban fabric, bustling streets, and historic buildings; other times, gliding smoothly until it meets the infinite blue of the sea.  

This place is not just a privileged viewpoint but also a space for reflection on Cuba’s history and Martí’s legacy. Inside, the museum preserves documents, objects, and exhibitions narrating the life of the Apostle, as well as rooms displaying works from various artists. Each exhibit offers a window into Martí’s thoughts and struggles, allowing visitors to connect with his legacy.  

I have visited this place multiple times, always accompanied by family. I never tire of appreciating its details, both inside and outside. In front of the memorial, the esplanade transforms into an unexpected stage for Havana’s daily life. At any time of day, you can see old cars with vibrant colors and meticulous details, turning into an open-air exhibit of treasures from the past. It’s a fascinating sight—a blend of living history and the ever-moving present.  

Every visit to the memorial is an opportunity to reconnect with the city from a fresh perspective—a journey between past and present, memory and inspiration.

Hoy es el quinto día de la iniciativa #hivearoundtheworld de @hivecreator, y para ello decidí mostrarles un lugar emblemático de mi país que está a unos metros de mi casa.  
La *Plaza de la Revolución* es un espacio fundamental de La Habana, que marca el pulso de la ciudad tanto en su cotidianidad como en su historia. Ubicada en la avenida Paseo y Rancho Boyeros, su presencia es constante en mis caminatas por el barrio. Desde distintos ángulos, la veo recortarse en el horizonte, imponente y cargada de significado. Entre sus elementos más notables se encuentra el *Memorial José Martí*, un sitio que rinde homenaje al Héroe Nacional de Cuba y que, además, ofrece una de las vistas más espectaculares de La Habana.  
Desde lo alto de su mirador, la ciudad se despliega en un mosaico de arquitectura, historia y vida cotidiana. Las calles parecen trazos de un mapa vibrante donde conviven la herencia colonial, el art déco y las estructuras más modernas. En la distancia, el mar actúa como límite y extensión a la vez, dando la sensación de que la ciudad no termina, sino que se funde con el horizonte.  
La historia del monumento se remonta a los años 20, cuando el urbanista francés *Jean Claude Nicolas Forestier* propuso trasladar el centro geográfico de La Habana a la *Loma de los Catalanes*. Su visión incluía un monumento dedicado a Martí en el sitio más privilegiado. No fue hasta la década de 1950 que el proyecto cobró forma definitiva. Esta hermosa torre de cinco puntas, que se alza hacia el cielo, es un símbolo de independencia.
Recorrer el memorial genera una sensación de grandeza y solemnidad. *Esta estructura* parece mantener un diálogo con la ciudad que se extiende a sus pies. Desde arriba, la vista cambia constantemente: en ocasiones se pierde entre el entramado urbano, con sus calles bulliciosas y edificios históricos; otras veces, se desliza suavemente hasta encontrarse con el azul infinito del mar.  
Este lugar no solo es un mirador privilegiado, sino también un espacio de reflexión sobre la historia de Cuba y el legado de Martí. En su interior, el museo resguarda documentos, objetos y exposiciones que narran la vida del Apóstol, así como algunas salas donde se exhiben obras de diferentes artistas. Cada exhibición ofrece una ventana al pensamiento y la lucha de Martí, permitiendo a los visitantes conectar con su legado.  
He visitado este lugar en varias ocasiones, siempre acompañada de mi familia. No me canso de apreciar sus detalles, tanto en el interior como en el exterior. Frente al memorial, la explanada se convierte en un escenario inesperado de la vida habanera. En todo momento del día, allí se pueden ver carros antiguos que, con sus colores vibrantes y cuidadosos detalles, se convierten en una exposición al aire libre de joyas del pasado. Es un espectáculo fascinante, una mezcla de historia viva y el presente que sigue fluyendo.  
Cada visita al memorial es una oportunidad para reencontrarme con la ciudad desde una perspectiva distinta, un viaje entre el pasado y el presente, entre la memoria y la inspiración.
