Hey guys, this sounded a lot like a doom and gloom post; but rest assure that this is a very practical post because sooner or later, we must face this music. Everyone’s journey will come to an end (unless you are a pre-tribulation rapture believer, that’s another story); and moreover, expenses goes up every day to the point that you no longer can say _que sera-sera_ anymore.

_cheapest package so far I know is around 9,000 MYR; and this is year 2024 price._
 
After looking at all the funerals I have attended. Just going through asking around the prices gives me the chill. But this also give me a reality check that though God will definitely provide when my time is up or my elderly parents’ time is up to _**go home**_ , there has to be at least some basis to set aside in case needed. 

#### Hallelujah if God provides 100%, then whatever I have saved, will be used to help the next person.

Especially recently seeing more and more deaths around me and I have been having frequent dizzy spells, to the point I actually have an oximeter close to me in case of anything I need to check, gotta be ready for anything to reduce as much inconvenience to others as possible.

##### I believe I have spoken enough negativity here! I digress!
Now, let’s see what interesting finds I have today regarding alternative savings besides conventional banks and crypto. 

(Gotta spread out the basket, I tell you; especially after the recent Forex fallout, nothing is certain)

## So what did I find?

##### Versa Digital Bank and GX Bank 
Both of them reside in South East Asia, where they closely tie to Singapore; however due to the recent new booming of digital banking opportunities in Malaysia to cater low credit-score Malaysians / Malaysians residing abroad, the competition of digital banks from the non-conventional banking system is trying to get a piece of the pie for them to increase their capital for profit.

Venture Capitals are now a norm, we just got to be smart with it. 

The most attractive part is that both of these digital wallets offer low start up deposit as low as MYR10 (approximately 6 HIVE as of today's date), but if we want some perks in return, Versa requires a minimum deposit of MYR 100 (around 60 HIVE) to get a 10% cash back; while GX Bank offers a 9.09% cash back if we deposit a minimum of MYR 88 (approximately 48 HIVE) cash back.

###### And the losing side is that GX Bank has noreferral bonus when I invite friends; while [Versa offers a 6 hive referral bonus](https://download.versa.com.my/1bAf/referral?deep_link_value=64N5SL4L) with a friend depositing as low as 60 hive in MYR)

It is actually quite a bummer that permanent residents in Malaysia is not eligible at the moment, but since they are still very new to the game and there's a lot of Malaysian Banking regulations to monitor its move about, foreigners can only use e-wallets such as Touch N Go but loses the savings perks.

(Unless you are married to a Malaysian, and let your spouse handle all the saves assets)

###### But is it still worth for a Malaysian to open an account with these apps?
Well, Malaysians love FREE stuffs. So for GX Bank when the cash back promotion is still on, it is good to have it.

But I still like GX Bank's more structured multiple saving targets compared to Malayan Bank's MAE which collects the spare changes into the savings; but there isn't any significant daily interest accumulation as little as MYR10.

Besides, spreading out the eggs and let them grow individually until "harvest" for use is still a good idea, then at least if one boat is down, there's another one still floating.

That being said, further diversifying assets for its own interest growth is important; that's why this is going be an add-on to my already portfolio.... now that my forex is all burnt down to the drain.
