Since I delve into photography, I always find satisfaction when my blog uses a picture that I take myself rather than relying on Unsplash or similar stock images platfrom. I think that using our images adds a unique touch and style to our writing and helps to make it more personal. I have noticed that many successful writers and content creators also use their own images in their work, and it's clear that they put a lot of effort and passion into their creations, even if it may not always result in immediate rewards. Everyday, I am constantly amazed that creators over youtube and tiktok put an effort for something that may not generate any reward quickly.Although I have discussed this in the past, taking youtube seriously would mean that you have to invest not just time but also money. I also just read an article that says [Gen Z spends more time on youtube](https://www.insiderintelligence.com/content/how-gen-z-consumes-media-5-charts) which would make sense why people want to invest their time into it. Now back to Hive, since what I write here is normally rants, personal development, some philosophy stuff, to add a personal touch to my posts, I like to use images of frangipani flowers or object from nature. Not only are they beautiful, but they also add a nice visual element to my blog. In my experience, people tend to be highly influenced by visual elements, and this is particularly true when it comes to online content. The thumbnail and the title matters to get views, click and generate something that we call, "engagement". 

As I curate and browse different blogs, I often come across creators who don't put much thought into the appearance of their thumbnails. For example, I have seen cooking blogs that use visually unappealing images of the process rather than showcasing the finished dish. In my opinion, it is important to take the time to create visually appealing thumbnails and other elements, as they can make a big difference in attracting and retaining readers. While stock images can be useful in some cases, I think that overusing them can erase the authenticity and originality of a blog. Unless you do not even care about getting an audience then that does not matter. Another example would be this post itself,  the title of my blog is only explaining about my picture but does not explain the point that I am talking about. Nice shots man, ya I always prefer to use my own photos as much as possible in my posts too. It's just more authentic and takes more effort than relying on Pixabay or the likes..

For sure! I always appreciate people with creative thumbnail and photos rather than Pixabay. These days, you can make a good picture with smartphone and did an editing and that's something I consider effort even if it's not perfect.

That was a good semi-rant. I also think that the thumbnails are important, or rather every photo in the post is important, because I usually read all the posts and look at all the photos, but of course the thumbnail is the most important. It is impossible not to click on an impressive thumbnail haha.

Me personally prefer to use my own pictures even it is not that good compared to those in unsplash and other free images because by doing so, I am satisfied with what I have posted. Though there are times that I am using free images usually if I joined some prompt and don't have available own pictures to use.

You're right that using our own pictures makes our content more original.
