Las clásicas _**Tostadas Francesas**_ son otra de mis opciones favoritas para un dulce desayuno, básicamente porque son fáciles de preparar y resultan ser sumamente deliciosas. Aunque realmente en este lado del mundo no son tan populares, pero nunca está demás probar algo distinto, ¿cierto? 

Recuerdo que la primera vez que las prepararé (hace ya bastante tiempo) no podía creer lo fácil que era preparar un desayuno al estilo peliculesco sin tener que permanecer en la cocina demasiado tiempo. Claro está que las versiones originales son un poco más calóricas, por lo que siempre las termino adaptando a la versión un poco más _saludable_. Así que hoy les compartiré las forma en que prepararo mis Tostadas Francesas versión saludable.

>The classic _**French Toast**_ is another one of my favorite options for a sweet breakfast, basically because they are easy to prepare and happen to be extremely delicious. Although they are not really that popular on this side of the world, but it never hurts to try something different, right? 

>I remember the first time I made them (quite a while ago) I couldn't believe how easy it was to prepare a movie-style breakfast without having to stay in the kitchen for too long. Of course, the original versions are a bit more caloric, so I always end up adapting them to the slightly healthier version. So today I will share with you the way I prepare my French Toast healthy version.

✔ 2 cucharadas de leche de tu preferencia (yo empleé leche de almendras)

✔ 1 cucharada de extracto de estevia o endulzante de tu elección

Esto de verdad será muy fácil y rápido, al igual que todas las demás recetas que he compartido anteriormente aquí en mi Blog. En un recipiente mezcla muy bien el huevo, con la leche, el endulzante, la esencia de vainilla y la canela. A mí en esta oportunidad se me fue un poco la mano con la canela, pero al final no hubo de qué preocuparse, pues mis tostadas resultaron deliciosas y con una buena cantidad de sabor. Mi recomendación es que no te saltes el paso de añadir vainilla y canela, porque realmente estos dos ingredientes son fundamentales para hacer la **mejor tostada francesa** pues añaden mucho sabor al pan.

Con la mezcla lista, remoja las dos rebanadas de pan en ella procurando que absorban una cantidad suficiente del líquido, sólo procura no dejar el pan en la mezcla por mucho tiempo o se empapará y puede que se rompa un poco. Luego, coloca ambas rebanadas de pan en una sartén bien caliente o plancha eléctrica previamente barnizada con un poco de aceite de tu preferencia. Créeme que no hace falta una cantidad enorme de aceite, solamente puedes tomar una servilleta, mojarla con un pequeña cantidad de aceite y luego barnizar el sartén con ella. Este es un truco bastante sencillo de la abuela para no abusar del aceite en nuestras comidas.

Cocina por ambos lados hasta que se doren, aproximadamente unos 2 a 3 minutos por cada lado. Y ahora, _¡las tostadas francesas están listas para servir!_, puedes acompañarlas con las frutas de tu preferencia, mermelada o algún syrup sin azúcar. Esta vez yo opté por algunas fresas, unas cuantas rebanadas de banana y mantequilla de maní 100% natural sin azúcar pero endulzada con estevia.

>With the mixture ready, soak the two slices of bread in it making sure they absorb a sufficient amount of the liquid, just try not to leave the bread in the mixture for too long or it will get soggy and may break a little. Then, place both slices of bread in a very hot frying pan or electric griddle previously coated with a little oil of your choice. Believe me, you don't need a huge amount of oil, you can just take a napkin, wet it with a small amount of oil and then coat the pan with it. This is a simple trick from grandma to not overuse oil in our meals.

>Cook on both sides until golden brown, about 2 to 3 minutes on each side. And now, _the French toast is ready to serve!_, you can serve it with the fruits of your choice, jam or some sugar-free syrup. This time I opted for some strawberries, a few slices of banana and 100% natural unsweetened peanut butter sweetened with stevia.

En serio, cuando les digo que este es un desayuno de otro mundo tienen que creerme. Incluso también puede servir como una merienda a mitad de tarde, ¿qué les parece?

Si nunca, jamás en sus vidas han preparado Tostadas Francesas es momento de que lo intenten porque estoy segura de que las amarán. No necesariamente tienen que emplear los mismos ingredientes que yo pues pueden sustituir la leche de almendras por leche completa y la estevia por el endulzante que usan con regularidad y ya está, el resto es a libre elección.

Thank you very much! I always go for whole wheat bread, it's a slightly healthier option and I like it. 

I too had not eaten French toast for quite some time, but one day I woke up thinking about this breakfast and I said to myself: _"this is the perfect day to prepare it"_ 😍
