# Preface

This post is somewhat a work of fiction, but fiction based on facts intermixed with my opinions.  Over the last couple of weeks I've been thinking about the work of liberals not as the individual actions of, in my mind misguided, individuals but as a concerted effort by a malevolent organization.  An organization similar to THRUSH in the old "Man from U.N.C.L.E." series or Spectre from the 2015 James Bond movie.  This work is a report circulated within our imaginary malevolent organization that has come to light.

# Report: Status of Project America

After World War II the inherent greatness was recognized in the United States.  This potential was deemed inconsistent with our plans for the world and efforts were set in motion to destroy this potential.  This report is intended to summarize the successes we've had and the challenges we face.

The greatness of America was based on the beliefs that all human beings were created equal, that hard work would make you successful in life and that faith in God would help you through difficult times.  These three beliefs set Americans apart from most of the other peoples of the world by establishing a higher level of individualism than existed in most others.  America was, and is, still striving to meet these ideals making great strides in establishing the equality of all races and both sexes within the United States.

Even with the high level of individualism, America's greatest strength demonstrated during the two world wars was its ability to come together against a common enemy.  During the wars, America mobilized not only a military that turned the tide on the battlefield but also a single-minded support system at home that was second to none.  This single-minded combination between the military on the battlefield and the support system at home proved to be the deciding factor in both wars.

### All are Created Equal

Our efforts have been employed in this area to support those that want more than equality for their race or sex, those that desire superiority.  We aided the development of feminism to the place of putting the rights of females above those of males.  Between the races we have aided those seeking reparations for one race from another race even though those paying the reparations have done no wrong.  We aided in the establishment of quota systems for employment that could be used to provide preferential treatment to one race or sex over another.

These efforts have greatly slowed the healing between the different groups that would naturally come as the ideal of bigotry became less prevalent.  Maintaining the mistrust between the sexes and different races will make it more difficult to truly bring about the concept of equality for all.  This in turn will make it less likely for America to ever be able to again generate the single-minded effort displayed during the World Wars. 

### Capitalism versus Socialism

The best way to fully destroy the American spirit is the destruction of capitalism.  An economic system that would make it possible for a person to raise themselves from poverty to riches through his own efforts provides a strong basis for the individualism seen in Americans.  

We've been able to greatly change the attitudes of many Americans since the 1950's.  At that time, Americans were fully immersed in the Red Scare and McCarthyism and now we have self-avowed socialists being elected to the American Congress.  This progress was made using a dual pronged attack both within and outside the government.
Outside the government we have been able to infiltrate the education system of the United States.  Over several generations we have been able to all but eliminate the education of young Americans what it had traditionally meant to be an American.  Removing these underpinnings have brought about anti-capitalist feelings in America's youth.  Fostering the belief that capitalism only works for the more affluent and will not work to allow the average person to make the move from poverty to riches based on their own efforts and skills.

In the area of college education our efforts have been directed towards teaching the youth to think more with their hearts than with their minds.  This has brought about calls for "social justice" with the intent of making everyone equal.  Society is trending towards forcing even speech patterns with political correctness and gender-neutral pronouns.  This has brought about the desire in some to abandon the concept of free speech, specifically limiting the speech of those that disagree with these more liberal concepts.  

We have provided an onslaught on the belief that God will help Americans through difficult times.  This onslaught has come from many different directions with the two prevalent in the forms of drugs and abortion.  Fostering the availability of drugs in the United States we have weakened the minds and bodies of many, particularly the youth.  To further downplay the role of God in the nation we have fostered abortion to the point that some now find “after birth abortion” acceptable and fail to see it as murder. Success here is evident based on the placement of religious rights lower than those of other minority groups.

Youth are now turning towards the ideals of socialism to bring about their vision of fairness in the nation. The main concept we have supported that aid the desire to move toward socialism is the concept that capitalism is corrupt and only a progressive government can be trusted to do what is right for everyone. 

At the same time the bureaucracy of the American federal government has been infiltrated.  This bureaucracy is more permanent than the elected officials, spanning many terms in office during the career of an individual in the bureaucracy.  These infiltrated members of the government tend to work well with elected officials that are more liberal.  When more conservative officials have been elected the bureaucracy slows down trying to thwart any advances of conservative politicians.  This infiltration has been termed "the deep state".

### The Middle Class and Illegal Immigration

Another of the true strengths of the United States in the mid 1900’s was the existence of a strong middle class.  These were the people that understood the capitalist system offered a means for them to improve their existence and subsequently the existence of their children.  To fully destroy capitalism, we had to ensure the destruction of the middle class of America.

Luckily for us in the late 1960’s a growing wave of illegal immigrants from Mexico and other countries provided the key.  These illegals came in such numbers as to provide an excess of workers in the United States.  With large pool of potential workers, employers were able to find plenty of workers without significantly raising wages.  By the early 1970’s, worker’s wages were rising slower than inflation causing wage stagnation and the beginning of the erosion of the great middle class.

Since then we have aided this illegal immigration and today, we have to a large extent destroyed the middle class.  The financial gap between the rich and the poor in America is among one of the highest in the world.  This gap is being used to further foster animosity between the rich and poor accelerating the call for socialism to replace capitalism.  Even if all our efforts were stopped today, we estimate it would take two to three generations to rebuild the middle class.

Although in time this illegal immigration will have to be stopped, the current wave a nationalistic pride in America is making this impossible at this time.  Once the new Socialist government is in place, mass deportations may be required to make it possible for the new country to survive and the fledgling government to remain in power.  The current “Make America Great Again” campaign represents the greatest threat to our success we have experienced.  Although continued illegal immigration is not desirable, it is necessary at this point to limit the success of the current conservative movement.

### Summary

Although great strides have been made is breaking down the potential strength of the United States, we still have much work to do.  Looking at the three pillars providing the foundation for the individualism of Americans:
- Many no longer feel that everyone is created equal and that it is up to government to make everyone equal.
- The destruction of the middle class has all but destroyed the belief that hard work and skill can lead you to prosperity.
- Degradation in the religious rights undermines the belief that God can help one through difficult times.

Our prime concern currently is the resurgence of nationalistic pride brought about by the “Make America Great Again” campaign.  Currently we are making every effort to assure voters in the elections slated for 2020 that socialism is possible and can remedy all the disparities in the country.  Even if our efforts to stop the conservative efforts in 2020 fail, our cause will go on.
