The left is really showing its lunacy with the recent attacks on Christmas.  From attacking the story of the virgin birth, to candy canes, even to a traditional Christmas favorite "Baby, It's Cold Outside".  It seems that some people have too much time on their hands and use it to look around for things that offend them.

Eric Sprankle, Psy.D, an associate professor at the Minnesota State University, suggest in a tweet that [God committed rape by failing to gain consent before impregnating the virgin Mary](https://www.newsweek.com/minnesota-eric-sprankle-virgin-mary-impregnated-without-consent-minnesota-1248801).  From the Twitter feed:

> The virgin birth story is about an all-knowing, all-powerful deity impregnating a human teen. There is no definition of consent that would include that scenario. Happy Holidays.”

Mr. Sprankle goes on to add

> The biblical god regularly punished disobedience. The power difference (deity vs mortal) and the potential for violence for saying 'no' negates her 'yes.' To put someone in this position is an unethical abuse of power at best and grossly predatory at worst.

It sounds to me like by enrolling students in Sprankle's classes, Minnesota State University is placing students in an atmosphere subject to "an unethical abuse of power at best and grossly predatory at worst".

[Jennifer Sinclair, the principal of Manchester Elementary School in Omaha, Nebraska was suspended after writing a memo detailing what Christmas decorations were acceptable](https://www.foxnews.com/us/nebraska-principal-reportedly-bans-candy-canes-says-j-shape-stands-for-jesus).   Candy canes were specifically banned because

> Historically, the shape is a 'J' for Jesus. The red is for the blood of Christ, and the white is a symbol of his resurrection

Although Christian meanings are sometimes associated with parts of candy canes, the [history behind them](https://www.whychristmas.com/customs/candycanes.shtml) is somewhat different.   Candy canes were invented in Germany in 1670 when a choirmaster gave the children in his choir white sugar candies to keep them quiet during the long nativity service.  The candies were made with a crook to remind the children that shepherds visited baby Jesus on the first Christmas.  Around 1900, colors and flavors were added to the previously white candy canes, without the Christian meaning associating the blood of Christ with the red color.

At least the public school system in Nebraska had the good sense to suspend Ms. Sinclair.

Although Christmas isn't mentioned in the lyrics of "Baby, It's Cold Outside" it's often thought of as a Christmas song.  Perhaps because of the cold weather we associate with Christmas.  The song is about a young man trying to seduce a young woman into staying the night.  Some radio stations feel this is [too much like date rape to be acceptable listening](https://www.citybeat.com/music/minimum-gauge/blog/21035449/minimum-gauge-the-all-baby-its-cold-outside-controversy-edition) and have banned the song from their Christmas playlist.

This is an amazing stretch of the imagination.  It does bring the question to mind of "When does attempted seduction become attempted rape?".  Where ever you draw the line between attempted seduction and attempted rape, I can't see it in this song.  To me this song is more humorous than anything else, but listen to the song yourself and draw your own conclusion.  It would be something to take all the playlists from the radio stations that are banning this song and see what else is allowed.  I know there are much more offensive songs being played on the radio than "Baby, It's Cold Outside".

The left continues to stretch it's imagination and look for things to label offensive.  But this isn't just an attack on sanity, it's an attack on Christianity.  In the name of being sensitive to other religions, the left would never attack Muslim, Hindu, or Jewish holidays.  So where is the same sensitivity applied to Christianity?
