The stage glowed with a magnificent warmth, its lightnings high vaulted ceiling stretched above. Velvet curtains framed it, deep red and regal, partinh to reveal the spotlight's soft embrace. The piano begins to play slowly, its sound gradually takes over the soul.

*"That's my cousin"*

Jack, a tall, handsome and lovely gentlman. He would always come to the show to watch his cousin perform her songs. He is a big fan of hers. He made that statement to Randy, his friend, who he had to drag to the show. He never wanted to come for the show, he doesn't just like going out of the house.

Jack didn't get a response when he made the first statement, *"I said that's my cousin"* He looked at him.

Randy's eyes could not look away from the beautiful lady in from of him.

Randy nods, showing his satisfaction in her name. *"She has a lovely name. Is she single?"*

Jack bursts out of laughter the second time. *"Randy? Are you sure no one charmed you when I left to get us some popcorn?"*

Randy gives him a look, *"What is that supposed to mean? Am I restricted to admiration?"*

Randy gives him a smile, *"That's because I haven't seen anyone that I really like"*

*"Haha! So Julia is the one you like?"*

Randy hissed at him. The music stops immediately and the singer leaves the stage. Randy stands up immediately to move over to the back stage. 

Julia, a beautiful singer who is loved by many because of her jovial nature and talent walks out from the back stage. A lot of persons were there already to celebrate her for the awesome performance she gave on stage. The Paparazzi could not take a step away from her, they were very active to capture and record every single moment. Randy stands at a convenient corner, stretching his neck like Zachius in the bible to make sure that he could see where she was headed. A black Range Rover which is parked adjacent the backstage opened immediately Julia came closer and she goes into it. Randy watched the car until it went out of sight.

*"You couldn't speak to her?"* Jack had been standing beside  him for a couple of minutes looking at how his friend is seriously lost because of a lady. He just couldn't stop laughing. He intentionally forced him to the concert knowing fully well that he would fall in love with his sister.

Randy looks at him from the driver's corner, "Could you just get into the car? Stop talking!"*

Jack laughs again. *"You really want to speak to her? I could help you"*

Randy nods his head in agreement. He really wanted this, *"Is she single?"*

*"Hey! Calm down, man. Haha! How am I supposed to know about that? But she should be single, anyway."*

Randy hisses, *"You're not even sure"*

**THE NEXT DAY**


Randy made some pancakes waiting for Jack to come over to his house with goodnews. A knock comes to the door immediately he comes out from the kitchen. Randy opens the door immediately.

*"Hey! What's up? You actually wasted a lot of time"*

Jack gives him a look and goes inside the house. He picks some pancakes and takes a bottle of coca-cola. *"I should come to you by 5:00am? Haha"*

*"I can't stop thinking about her, bro!"*

Jack laughs. *'You know, I'm very happy that you are the one that can't stop thinking about her. Not like all these ladies in your inbox begging you for a little attention. The good news is that she is single. But..."*

*'What?"*

*"You need to approach her yourself, brother"*

Randy shakes his head in disagreement. *"No, bro. You know i can't do that. I've never done that before."*

*"As a man you should do it. I thought about it and I came a conclusion that Julia will never see you as someone she could find interesting if her brother connected you to her. But when you go get her yourself, she sees the value you placed on her. You're 30 brother, you're no more a baby!"*

*"Oh man"* He puts his hand on his head. *"I knew her when she was younger, she has just grown to a beautiful lady in no time"*

*"Go get her, man. I'd help you, though. We would go to my house right now. She is there with my sister and my wife. I would help you handle my wife and my sister, then you could make your move. How about that?"*

*"Oh man! Cool! Let's do it."*

Jack drives him down his house. He introduces Randy to Julia and moves upstairs with his sister and his wife. Randy sits opposite to Julia. He stayed quite for a couple of seconds before talking. 

*"It was a beautiful performance out there"*

Julia gives him a smile. *"Thank you. The song was for my mother. She helped me compose that song when I was little"*

*"Wow. You did wonderfully well. So you'd give us a beautiful sound again in the next show?"*

*"Yeah, a song for my dad."*

Randy nods.

*"What do you do"*

*"Me?"* Randy's mouth quivered. *"I'm an engineer."*

*"Nice. Okay it's nice to meet you. I should be leaving in 30 minutes. Let me see my sister- in-law before leaving."*

Randy nods again.

Jack comes down afterwards. *"You see? I told you. She is jovial and she could be a perfect match for you."*

Randy looks at him in disappointment. 


*"I couldn't say anything, man. I'm very mad at myself. I'm 30! But because of the fear of the false teachings I accumulated while growing up about ladies, I can't even approach a lady like man! I'm supposed to married by now, I have seen ladies that I could love, but I just can't! I was taught that ladies are the weakness of a man, that a man that wants to be successful should have nothing to do with women. Now, I am successful, but I can't even have a decent conversation with any lady. I'm sorry man. I blew it!"*

Jack shakes his head. *"I know, man. Please don't talk this way. I know how it feels."*


*"No you don't "*

*"You still know your way around the piano? You remember the times we would just sing and forget what troubles us? Could we do it one more time? Please..."*

Randy gently moves to the piano and brings up a sound. Julia runs out of the room to know who is making such a beautiful sound. 


*"You play so well. Could you be rehearsing with me? I seriously want to have someone to rehearse with apart from the team"* Julia says

Randy stops playing and turns to her.

Jack smiles at her and turns to Randy. *"We talked about you when she came last night. I made her understand the kind of person you are. She went through your Instagram and your conferences. And she made it clear that you are the kind of man she wants for herself. You don't need to be perfect, man. You just had to try."*

Julia goes close to him. *"You don't need to promise me heaven on earth. Let's grow something together, Randy."*

Randy just stood there in shock. He couldn't believe what was going on. 

*"Thank you!"* That's all he managed to say. 


Randy and Julia became music partners. They grew to genuinely love each other. They got engaged later on and got married.
