I like it.  Very good idea... Let's talk about how we can get you some more support.... I think I can get you some more eyeballs too.  Since this post is 6 days old, I say we talk about it and you doing a new one... I have some good thoughts, I hope to hear from you...

ok we are rolling along and you are doing some incredible things.. the contest for the logo is great... I haven't got to the other post about account security, but I love the concept.

I have a few thoughts about the money to run by you.  And having spent the last 2 days completely buried, I want to let you know my thoughts.

First, it is going very very well... So I agree when you said it is exceeding expectations.

Two, it is looking more professional by the day.  Whenever you start something from scratch, you can't wait until its perfect to launch because you should have faith that it will improve always as time moves on. (with the right intentions behind it.)

Three, I think that people are very excited, but also some are hesitant because they aren't sure how "volunteering" will affect them... Some dive in, and some are a little more cautious (even though they love the idea and do want to help)

Four, I loved what you said in the logo contest, I like how you phrased this:

I think to keep it encouraging to the others, this should apply to me and you as a "rule" and all the others can make their own decisions as to how to spend the SBD they earn.  Some will hold contests, some will buy upvotes for newbies, and others may decide they want to do it full-time and actually just look at it as their niche here on steemit.  And of course, we can make sure they can voluntarily also donate to the master "#newbieresteemday fund" that you can be in charge of (or we can find a treasurer too)... Its up to you, but I don't want to track it... lol

I think the rule of it being just me and you that send back our SBD is a good rule because it doesn't force us to do anything other than verify ourselves.  Since you are the creator of the concept and I am you main supporter, I think it keeps it pure if we honor that rule.

And speaking of which it can get kinda confusing what benefits the initiative and what is your own post (but maybe includes the initiative as a sidenote) ... For instance you post on the LOGO is easy, you specified the SBD will go to the winner.  But in the "protecting you account" piece I would argue that is just a regular blog post that you should keep the SBD (and only voluntarily contribute if you feel so inclined)... I bring this up because I want to also keep you motivated and be clear on what I do too.  I certainly don't need the money, but I also want to grow my account to be able to increase my power and leverage within the system.  I in no way ever want either of us to letdown anyone or give the impression that we somehow have bad motives.  So before this gets any bigger, I propose the following rules: (again completely up to you what you think)

 I think we (me and you only)  should "specify" upfront in any post from this point forward if we are going give back the SBD to the master fund (and if so, what %), earmark it for direct newbie support through either direct transfer or via upvoting service, or any other way we decide to use the SBD.  IE, make it clear upfront at the bottom of the post so that each of us will always be able to verify that the other DID as we said.  This isn't a legal issue, it is an ethical issue and by keeping a rule that we only need to verify amongst ourselves it will reduce the hassle of trying to micro-manage all the other people out there.  Some will follow our lead and disclose what they are doing with the SBD, while others will just do what their heart tells them to do.

As we get bigger we can have different layers and put more structure in place, but at this point I want to maximize the impact and also keep it fun (less like a job).

Plus I think it will encourage others to join our cause because they can make more by resteeming newbies for a day that they can by posting copies of pics and saying a few words.  As long as they maintain the spirit of helping newbies (and don't try to charge for it or anything like that) I think it is cool and we might get many more helping the newbies "as a job"... 

Also on contests (for people other than me and you), I think it is a good idea to let them decide how much SBD to give out and how much they can keep for running the contests... The reason I mention this is that there is a whole business model opportunity out there to create contests and games as a "niche"... I think we can get our own homegrown people that figure this out, but I also think we can pull in some of the already established players as long as we don't restrict them too much.

To me the only major restriction should be that if they want to hold a contest for the #newbieresteemday initiative they must specify how much of the SBD (either dollar amount or %) will be used to support either the newbies directly or the master initiative fun.

So to give you an example... crowdini has a contest that it is the only thing he does... He has computers and servers and he has infrastructure in place.  I think I could approach him and say why don't we do a game to help the newbies and we can use the #newbiersteemday as a joint marketing avenue.  And he would agree to run the contest, market it to his base, and in return he would kick 10% of the SBD earned from it over to you in the master fund.  As long as we agree ahead of time and he discloses it properly, I think it is a good idea.  There are many already established people out there that we can work with and it will also increase the depth of our talent.

Finally, the last point.  I have been kicking people over to you because I want to 1) see what people can take 2) see what people can do 3) find out who works well with whom and 4) get more things done because I only have so much time in the day.

I tell you this so that you let me know if I am crossing the line or dumping too much on you.  I need to know these things to assess what speed we can move...So you won't hurt my feeling ever if you just tell me the truth and let me know if its too much.

Ok that is enough for now, please let me know your thoughts on all this... This is just me giving you my thought s and ideas... feel free to object or change or clarify anything you wish.

ps on the money, I think it should start from this point forward (with me and you).  One thing I'd like to do is to boost the prize total in your contest from the SBD I've got coming from my previous posts.... I would like your permission to upvote 1 sbd of what is coming ahead of time and I will subtract it when I get paid in the next 5 days.  Is that ok?

This platform definitely needs more community-centric people like you my friend 🙂 I've been following your good example and trying to encourage and resteem new people and some of them are already doing really well. It's very cool to see 😊

Good suggestion. I'm not even sure why I have never resteemed any posts. I guess it's just laziness and cognitive dissonance. It's the same with YouTube; I rarely click Like even if I really enjoyed the video. I'm such an ass lol. I will try from now on to resteem posts from users that I think are putting in work.

Interesting, I'm still new here and learning so much about how this platform works, it is fascinating.

Both you and @davemccoy are some of the hardest working people I know helping new comers without a lot of the support that other groups and users have been delegated, but I think that the people who you have been able to help out appreciate it even more :)

My ranking is up (on Steemit just 3 weeks now) already, also from getting some boosts from bigger users, so I feel lucky! And I have to say that's partly what motivated me to stay on Steemit and invest more of my time :-) Not yet at the 500 followers count, but if I find a newbie user I'll think of your post :-) Thanks for doing this!
