Only the rich are no so stupid to fall asleep and allow the slow poor to catch up.</p>\n<p>We saw it with Steemit. Those who had the money and the contacts to buy plenty os Steem when this started had the upper hand. The platform is in theory a democratic environment where anyone can become a whale but if you are already a whale from the get-go, no tiny fish will ever be a competitor.</p>\n<p>Rich people, especailly those who are born into rich families, have the know-how, the contacts, and the motivation to do what must be done when it must be done. That allows them to constantly invest and re-invest their money so that even if one business goes down, their fortune does no suffer.</p>\n<p>The average Joe will always be at risk of one failure. One business gone wrong may send them back to nothing in debt and probably in legal problems. True, some rich people started from scratch, but their success stories are in the minority among thousands of failure stories.</p>\n<p>Rich people have the means to hire the right people to do the work of a thousand. They do not have to worry for mundane things that may consume the time of someone who is struggling to get ahead in the game.</p>\n<p>Rich people can receive favors without having to touch a cent of their money. Just with a promise to return the favor, they can achieve things that would cost a fortune to a nobody.</p>\n<p>We see it in Venezuela, how most people are below the poverty line now, but those who were already rich when Chavez started 20 years ago are even richer now. They found ways to adapt to whatever pervertion was done to our economy and no matter how expensive things are for the average person,their business will always be a step ahead and they will always have the resources to maintain their standard of living and several investments (home or abroad) providing constant refilling for their treasure.</p>","appDepth":2,"appParentPermlink":"p33l2ulaq","appParentAuthor":"aalom","musingAppId":"aU2p3C3a8N","musingAppVersion":"1.1","musingPostType":"answer"}"

Will love answering this one. </p><p>The difference between rich and poor besides money is the network. Rich people have access too a whole different opportunity set as compared to poor people. The rich, after spending money on goods required to sustain life, have ample left to deploy in investable opportunities that poor people will never have. If you look at venture capital funds, hedge funds or private wealth managers, or tax consultants, then you know their services to save money or tax and invest are quite different than the poor. Even in terms of education, rich people have access to better schools. Second is the psychology. When one is poor, they dont have time to think about growing their wealth. They are too busy making ends meet and saving for old age. The rich have so much that they have no such worries. </p><p>And money attracts money. Once you can invest more, you can have more. Lastly, rich also occupy powerful positions in govt or companies and therefore decision making will always favour the rich. For example, a cash surplus company will look at share buybacks and dividends to reward rich shareholders as opposed to increasing wages. </p>","appDepth":2,"appParentPermlink":"p33l2ulaq","appParentAuthor":"aalom","musingAppId":"aU2p3C3a8N","musingAppVersion":"1.1","musingPostType":"answer"}"

Very very nice cars, except the Scion, I don't really like the look of it, it feels bulky. But the other ones, even thought they are old school cars, they are nice. But you have very good choices for many occasions right there.

They can go to whatever venue they choose to as a couple.</p>\n<p>But if they go separately then I suppose it depends on the purpose. For example: My wife goes to nightclubs from time to time for different events, such as hen's nights. And that's fine. I completely trust my wife and know that she's there to spend time with her friends and to celebrate her friend getting married.</p>\n<p>My wife also loves to dance, and I don't. So sometimes she goes out with her friends to places where they can all dance together. Personally, I hate loud venues. Especially ones that attract lots of young people. That makes me sound old, which is fine. I don't give a sh!t.</p>\n<p>The point is, occasionally, my wife likes to go to venues that some might call \"night clubs\". But when she does, it's with a group of other ladies who are mostly in committed relationships themselves. None of them are looking for a one night stand or the like so it doesn't bother me that my wife is at a night club without me. And in all honesty, I would never go to these venues anyway.</p>\n<p>I think your question is asking whether or not it's a problem for couples to go to night clubs separately and if my wife were going on her own to these places then I would definitely be asking questions. And it would become a problem. But then you'd also be questioning your trust of your loved one. And I know that my wife would never cheat on me. And I also know that she would never go to a night club on her own. Not only would she feel weird doing it, but she's very much a social person  and would never attend any venue like this on her own. </p>\n<p>Long story short, if couples are going to night clubs together then whatever. That's their business. Couples going to night clubs can be OK, if they are there to celebrate something with friends. I hated my dad and still to this day I don't want anything to do with him because of this reason.</p>\n<p>I now have 3 children of my own, we have a great relationship and I have never hit smacked any of my 3 as I have never wanted them to go through the same as what I went through as been a child.</p>\n<p>I had it hard growing up, I would miss behave and this made my dad mad I would get smacked and hit with his slipper, one time on Christmas day he locked me out of the house in just my underwear and it was freezing. there was nothing my mum could say or do to change the way my dad treated me.</p>\n<p>Mentally I was broken, and I still have problems to this day because of the way he treated me.</p>\n<p>For example.</p>\n<p>My dad would alway come in from work and sit in his chair with a few cans of larger to unwind, I would be so scared to go into the living room where he was that I would just stand at the door to talk to him, 25 years later and I still find it hard to sit in my own living room of my house.</p>\n<p>I have got PTSD and I have massive flashbacks to when I was a kid and this has lead me to suicide on more than one occasion, I have even been sectioned twice for my ill mental health and they have linked it all back to my childhood.</p>\n<p>So to answer your question.</p>\n<p>Did you, or would you have lived to have been hit as a kid? well I didn't and this has lead me to have mental health problems.</p>\n<p>My kids get punished in different ways, I sit them on the naughty step for one minute for every year of their lives, this has worked a treat as my kids don't like having time out.</p>\n<p>I have taken items from them, but I find this doesn't work as well as they perform up to get it back and this just ends in a lot of stress for us all.</p>\n<p>My kids get prazed a lot for been good kids, they have a lot of friends and they are invited to a lot of parties which shows they are good and well behaved children.</p>\n<p>it's not about hitting them its about educating them right from wrong which is what I have found to be key in bringing my children up.  </p>","appDepth":2,"appParentPermlink":"f3fc4u9sq","appParentAuthor":"jerrybanfields","musingAppId":"aU2p3C3a8N","musingAppVersion":"1.1","musingPostType":"answer"}"

I think I stated some weeks back how unsustainable having a central reward system is. Stinc just took their delegations from some projects and they cannot operate on the scale they once did. So now, what is the way forward?

<p>Self-sustaining community effort? Good luck with that.</p><p>A lot of people are only write blog posts on Steemit, but they don't care about the contents of others.</p><p>I only upvote others (I don't do self-upvotes) since 2018.03.20, but most of my upvotes nowadays are comes from Musing, Sm-voter (free upvote bot for Steem Monsters posts), Busy (free automatic upvote bot for using Busy.org and the "busy" tag), Minnowsupport (free upvote bot).</p><p>I rarely receive real, human comments under my posts.</p><p>There are a lot of similar people to me. Their posts are basically ignored. So much for the community effort. Not to mention the thousands of people, who are left (or leaving) Steemit. I currently (nowadays) have 929 followers, but most of them are inactive nowadays. They left Steemit long (months) ago.</p>

So now, what is the way forward?","appBody":"<p>The best we could do at the moment is <strong>continue using the Musing platform </strong>and hope that Steemit Inc will return the delegation back just like what they did on Utopian-io months ago (<em>Steemit Inc returned their delegation after a week after the Steemit Inc and Utopian team talked things out</em>). </p>\n<p>I love Musing but I think we can all agree that compared to other Steem platforms/DApps, the Musing team ain't that active on posting some updates as to the developments or what nots of the platform on Steem making Musing somewhat out-of-reach from the general Steem community. (<em>Although in Musing's defense I also don't know what they can post but a little post that says they are still active and up would have been nice XD</em>)</p>\n<p>SndBox is posting daily blog posts but it's reach are only to a few people. A part of me thinks that Steemit Inc might have thought that the delegation for Musing, SndBox and DSound wasn't that properly utilized <strong>since only a few people are being reached by this platforms</strong> compared to DTube, SteemPress and SteemHunt. (<em>That or they are really trying to exit Steem with all the power-downs happening XD</em>)</p>\n<p>With the current disappointing price of Steem, Musing's options to move forward is very limited considering that they don't take any beneficiary rewards. Musing needs another angel that is willing to delegate a huge SP <strong>with no strings attached </strong>in order to keep the platform afloat and it's users to still be motivated to stay.</p>\n<p>I am one of those who were here before the 1 million SP delegation from Steemit Inc but it is worth to note that the price of Steem back then was above $1. The vote wasn't much compared to after 1 million SP but people (and I myself) was still motivated since I am getting around $0.2-$0.6 from some of my answers back then even with less than 500kSP.  That kinda worked for me because Steem was above $1.</p>\n<p>With Steem at $0.25 and assuming that around half of the genuine Musing users would stay, I really foresee that it's much harder to scale the votes and with people earning only $0.01-$0.1, I can't really blame them for leaving. </p>\n<p>So in conclusion, I think one way to move forward is to find a new angel that would delegate a huge SP with no strings attached. As much as I believe that some Musers will delegate to Musing to help the platform, I don't really see this happening and quite frankly most of us are only planktons/minnows so that also won't help that much. I don't live in Nigeria, so I don't know how the government set up is working in actuality, but the framework for the best governance the world has ever seen is there:

Executive branch—President

Legislative branch—a National Assembly compromised of a House and Senate

Judicial branch—Supreme Court

A Constitution, which becomes the ultimate law of the land

Compromising a constitutional republic, rather than a democracy

A separation of powers, with checks and balances, and more than one party.

There are other things that get thrown into the mix, and other voices to account for, but that seems to be the gist of the Nigerian federal governance.

For all intents and purposes, it was modeled after the federal government of the United States.

Which means that the pieces are there for the best governance man has known throughout history. Unfortunately, that does make it flawless, nor does it necessarily incentivize the people in positions of power to use the system as it was intended. Instead of a separation of power, or decentralization, there are many who want to concentrate it wherever they are, for their own benefit.

So, as I think of it now, governance is only as good as the people who are elected to fill the respective positions, which means good people need to run, and voters need to somehow discern who those folks are. By good, I mean that they understand how the government is intended to function, and that they are content with the level of power they are given, and that their purpose is serve their constituents, and not serve their own self-interests.

If you have a bunch of humble, selfless people running around, there's bound to be more good coming out than bad. Mistakes are made, but they are learned from and a better way is established.

Centralization of power more times than not leads to bad governance. Consolidation of powers into one person or body, particularly a body of people who believe a certain way, or are willing to be coerced into a certain way of thinking, is not good for those who are outside of that body.

The trick is, keeping that balance of decentralized powers.

Although our government is called a federal government, the system of government is actually Unitary. I will explain. </p><p>When Major General Aguyi Ironsi came into power in 1966 after the first coup d'etat organized by Nzeogwu, Nigeria was practicing true federalism. It had four autonomous regions(Northern, Western, Eastern and Mid-West regions) that paid tax to the federal government. </p><p>After Ironsi came into power, he scrapped the four regions and changed the system of government to Unitary in order to consolidate power (this was one of the reasons for the counter coup). </p><p>In the Unitary system, the federal government controls all the resources of the state. That means any resource in any part of the country regardless of region or state is explored by the Federal Government and the revenue obtained is shared to the states and local governments. </p><p>The welfare of the people is determined by how well the state governments can utilize the funds to the betterment of the people. Unfortunately good governance has always been lacking in our government. </p><p>It's important to note that the oil producing states get the lion share in federal allocations but there's very little difference in the standard of living in any of the states in Nigeria because of corruption and mismanagement.</p><p>The situation will be much different if we practiced true federalism. After discussing waking up at a certain time regularly, one should try to execute regular things on regular time. Having a routine is not a thing of less adventure at all. And the more one tries to do a thing on time, the more one feels better about little things and gets encouraged.</p><p>And thus, one learns to do how to prioritise one thing over the other. With the growing sense of prioritising one develops a better personality and understands the value of punctuality.</p><p>4. Avoid luxury to bait yourself</p><p>No matter how older you grow, you're always a little child in heart and you can always manipulate yourself into getting things done. Start by avoiding luxurious things and find out your potentiality of sustaining without luxurious things.</p><p>Luxury is the other name for lollygag or lethargy. When you see a mad dog running behind you, or a beautiful girl hints you something intimate, it's quiet obvious that you take least time to run without thinking. But it's when you know that you can luxuriously afford getting things done later, you feel lethargetic even more and that's where the problem begins!</p><p>5. Believe in yourself</p><p>You're your best friend and worst enemy too. Because you know all your bad qualities yet cherish them and you also know all your good qualities and you don't let them grow and rather let them decay with your lethargy.</p><p>It's neither any motivational speech nor a few words of mine is going to change you, it's only YOU who can bring the change of goodness in you. Give yourself some me-time each day, talk to yourself, contemplate your decisions and happy moments and worse ones. Learn from yourself. Yes 1 Steem might be worth very little today, but it coudl be worth $5 or more in the coming months. I personally think that with the current price it is a perfect time to accumulate cheap Steem and will be very happy when the prices start to rise (there has been a bit of a pump in the last couple of days which has been nice!)</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Moreover, not everyone is on Steem for the money side of things, and some people just enjoy it as an alternative social media where they can freely share ideas and meet new people without a centralised entity such as Facebook. For some people this is enough, and earning a few extra dollars truly is a bonus!</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Overall I think those that are not engaging and creating content at the current time will come to regret it in the coming months and years.
