Hola de nuevo! Hoy traigo una versión en violín de un extracto del musical Cats, una obra muy famosa creada por Andrew Lloyd Webber. Agradecida de haber participado en este maravilloso festival. De verdad disfruté muchísimo formar parte de esto.

Cats es una obra de teatro musical que fue creada a partir de poemas, específicamente la colección Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats de Thomas Stearns Eliot. El musical gira en torno un grupo de gatos, decidiendo que dentro de ellos habrá una nueva existencia. Reflexionan muchas cosas sobre la vida, como que es lo que quieren en su vida y el significado de la verdadera felicidad.

Esta obra se ha adaptado de muchas maneras, la más famosa fue la adaptación que se hizo en Broadway, sin embargo han habido otra producciones en otros lugares y países del mundo. Su premiere mundial fue en el año 1981 en New London Theatre del West End. Entre su elenco destacan artistas como Elaine Paige, Sarah Brightman, Brian Blessed, Finola Hughes, Bonnie Langford, entre otros.

Una de sus canciones más emblemáticas es Memory, cantado por el personajes Grizabella, cuya gata era muy glamurosa pero perdió todo su brillo. La canción trata sobre como recuerda su pasado con nostalgia, extrañando su brillo y lo que solía ser antes. Esta canción ha sido versionada por infinidad de artistas a lo largo del mundo, sea vocal o instrumentalmente, ya que posee una técnica de armonía y afinación que es un reto para cualquier músico.

Esta pieza es algo compleja por los cambios algo abruptos de tonalidad, sin embargo es hermosa y disfruté tocarla, amo este extracto del musical. El video lo edité en Wondershare Filmora y el audio lo mezclé con la pista en Audacity.

Siempre me pregunto por que Andrew Lloyd Weber tiene estas obras tan buenas, el hizo otras obras como "the phantom of the opera" y "Pie Jesu" que son muy bellas también, en un futuro quisiera comprarme un violín para aprender y ampliar mi arsenal musical como digo yo jejeje. ¡Gracias por compartir!

Todas tus presentaciones han sido maravillosas pero esta tiene algo que la hace aún mejor que las anteriores. Claro! Es mi punto de vista. A mi me han gustado todas... Solo que no sé , esta tiene algo que por un momento de concentre tanto en escucharla que en verdad perdí la noción del tiempo. Eres fantástica!!
