## Hello, everyone. 
They say we eat to keep the body active and listen to music to keep the soul active; music is like therapy to many of us. Even when we are down and broken, the only thing that keeps us going is music. No doubt, the right music can mend a broken heart and lift a broken spirit. There is music for every moment and every mood; in any mood you find yourself in, there is definitely music that fits that mood. I doubt if there is anyone out there who does not like the sound of one music genre or another; there has to be one genre of music that, whenever you listen to it, makes you feel better.

With the right music or playlist, you really do not need a therapist; you just need to listen to the right songs, and you will feel a lot better. Whenever I am feeling down, I just pick up my headset and plug it in. I listen to music while I walk, and it works every time. Music is more than we see; it sinks deep when you listen closely. In some moods, you even feel like the artist is talking to you, and that way you get a little motivation. 

Music is one source of motivation, and I cannot deny that. I have been in school for quite some time now, and it feels like it's not going to end because of my country's bad government. We keep going on strike or academic activities are put on hold for one reason or another, and sometimes when I remember how it has held me back, I feel so down, but music helps to lift my soul, and before you know it, I am feeling better. Music works like magic.

We all have different artists that do it for us. I listen to different genres of music and I love them all, but in most cases, I prefer reggae music. I was raised by a dad who loves and enjoys reggae music. I grew up to like it too, and I think I will pass it on to my kids too. The reggae artist that does it for me is **"Lucky Dube."** For many people, reggae music has no meaning, or they feel the artist is just saying meaningless words, but that's very wrong.

If you listen to reggae music closely, you will know the artist always talks about relatable experiences, either about the government or about personal life. The late Lucky Philip Dube is believed to be a South African reggae artist who was born on August 3, 1964; sadly, he died on October 18, 2007, and till date, no reggae artist has been able to pass the message like he does. Lucky Dube was on a whole different level; in one of his songs, he talked about setting aside our differences, whether black, white, or Asian, and saying we should all come together and make the world a better place. 

The reggae artists used their voices well, unlike a lot of artists we have today. Reggae artists challenged and talked about the government and how they keep treating people wrongly in many of their songs, and this alone makes me love reggae even more. No other genre of music tries to challenge the government the way reggae music does.
