Emerald Green, a Freewrite

Is everyone going to write about their cat for this one? I am. Sort of. 

I often make decorating decisions based on how a color will go with one or another of my pets. No kidding. Just a couple days ago, I noticed that my blue-grey cat, Freddy, looked really good on a green blanket that he was on at the time. I then had a eureka moment!!

I've been trying to decide what colors to use for some reupholstery projects I want to have done. I have two chairs and a couch that need to be recovered. The green of the blanket Freddy was then on would go well with the reddish brown wood on the chairs, and his blue grey color would be swell on the couch, which has yellowish wood. 

Then I thought better of the grey for the couch, because whenever Freddy is on it, except for his lovely green eyes, he will be invisible! Liable to be sat on! I already trip over him on the stairs at night, not good for little old ladies! I could use a patterned material for the couch I suppose. 

So much to think about!

Today's prompt is ***emerald eyes***. The photo is of my cat Eddie. Freddy's photos didn't cut the mustard for this. Also, my apologies for the wonky verb tenses.

And who is this beautiful creature in this exquisite drawing by "Davely"--?
Decorate a house to match your cat: incredibly enough, our daughter has taken this into consideration. The dogs are easier. Their maple tones match the floor and cupboards. Bobi the Bad has ginger tints, blacks, browns, grays, stripes, and green eyes which look good with the green chair. Never underestimate the power of pets as part of your decor! Especially giant collies who take up so much space on the floor. Or the wool rug (which has their exact shade of maple in it). Now, to keep them from ***licking*** that rug... (wool!)....

The drawing is one I found in a framing store that also sold old lithographs. It looked exactly like my cat Eddie, so no way I was leaving it there. Got it framed instead. It's better than any picture I have of him. Long gone now. I miss him.

Oh no! We think Prince's face is swollen, too, but of course the incompetent vet didn't look into it. 
Indignantly, over the phone afterward, he insisted that no vet in the county does all the things on the checklist of what vets should do for every animal that comes in with symptoms of anything.
I hope Jimmy is doing better now. Today, Prince passed up bacon. Ok, it's TURKEY bacon, but still... Bear is eager for seconds. Sorry, too salty for dogs (or humans, but we get to choose bad things for ourselves.)

Yeah, I fell in love with him the first time I saw him crouched at the edge of my property, just watching me. He was very feral, now he's my buddy. He still seems to be wondering at his good luck to have a warm house to enter, food magically appearing before him, and fellow small creatures as friends.

you have a good heart. One of our cats just showed up in our yard, the other cats would jump her, and she would roll onto her back and wet herself. I felt so bad for her I took her into the house and the other cats finally accepted her. We had her for 16 years.
