I remember when all I could do was spin a dream after another.

Nothing seemed out of reach, I could accomplish anything my mind conjured,

I could become anyone I wanted to be.

My imagination was the only limit.

Then life happened, 

And it all changed,

It all changed from bliss to pain,

It was heartbreaking 💔,

Realizing that they would only remain in my head, 

Nothing was as simple as it seemed while young,

To become anything I had to work hard and smart,

To become anyone I had to understand myself on rather a deeper level,

Something no one remembered to enlighten my dumb self,

Due to the pain, I was bitter at life, bitter at family,

No one told me it was going to be ever this tough,

No one told me what I had to go through to become someone,

I was bitter at myself the most,

For not having figured the **Truth** earlier on, 

But how could I have known, I was always under their wings,

Protected from the harshness of reality,

Losing all hope seemed like a better idea,

If it was all a lie, what was the point of it all?

But somehow I kept at it,

But I was not living but rather existing, I was still hurting,

Cynicism began setting a snare around my mind,

There was nothing brighter to look forward to,

The people I thought I could trust only seemed to care about their own interest

I was slowly realizing the meaning of the saying, 

"Every man for himself, and God for us all."

Then I found the ancients, 

Their advice listed in thick old books

Many not even aware of their existence, 

They offered me a new perspective, a new hope,

I realized the pain wasn't an annoyance,

But rather it was a necessity for that which we all crave,

**Growth**

I am still a bit cynical,

But they are coming back,

My dreams, this time not just dreams but that which I could turn into my reality,

I have come to the realization that life will always be a rollercoaster ride,

It will never be a straight line, 

But it will not always be going uphill, 

Just like the sky never stays blue, neither will the times.

I have learned to forgive, no one is perfect not even me,

My parents thought they were protecting me,

But the truth always catches up.

The pain has helped reshape the older me, into a new character,

I am still learning the ways of life, I think I will always be,

But it's not soo painful anymore, 

The answer is hidden in me overcoming the self,

No matter how tough it gets, I will still keep at it!
