Just before a new election in June, the proving government altered its Covid-19 death toll by [increasing](https://www.rt.com/news/525359-peru-covid-death-toll/) it nearly 3 times as much. New proposals made changes to the criteria for linking deaths to the coronavirus.

Why did this happen? An expert panel advised the government and how better link deaths with the virus. Or so-called experts who obviously have no agenda whatsoever and I merely representing the absolute reality of the situation right?

The end result was updating the death toll from 69,342 to a new total of 180,764. So how do they do this? What was the new change?

Apparently the incorrect way that they were doing before was only looking at patients with a confirmed infection. And by confirmed, they merely mean a dubious PCR test positive result. A PCR test result with a high degree of false positives and can't actually be used to determine if someone is actually sick. A PCR test results which merely shows any amount of virus being detected even if it poses no risk of illness or contagion to others.

So even though the previous method had issues of inflating actual deaths from a virus because of how it's being misinterpreted to think it can be used for diagnosis, they made it even worse with their new criteria to loosen things up.

Now there merely looking at excess deaths compared to previous years to determine that anyone who died in excess of previous years is a Covid death. Excess deaths change from year to year and prior to Covid there have been fluctuations from year to year. Now instead of accepting those fluctuations as part of what happens in reality, all of those excess deaths are going to automatically be attributed to Covid without any evidence to prove it.

They are just assuming everything is Covid. That's "science". That's the new reality. It's a good way to up the fear factor and make things look worse. Like headlines about Peru being the worst hit in the world per capita. The magic of numbers.
