Easy landscaping with watercolors! ( step by step tutorial)

<p><strong>When you look at youtube or other platforms you will see the most amazing watercolor paintings! Of course it would be amazing if we could all start off with those. Sadly, if you aim to high you will only get frustrated! Today I want to show you how to create the most easy way of landscaping with watercolors! To make it even more easy we are only going to use one color!&nbsp;</strong></p>
<p><strong>Now you might think, just one color? How will you create shapes with only one color?<br>
Easy, when you work in layers, meaning you let the paint dry before you add one more layer, the color you use will darken. The more layers you use, the darker your color will become!&nbsp;</strong></p>
<p><strong>For this project you will need: <br>
*Watercolor paint ( We will use blue) <br>
* A flat brush<br>
*Water<br>
*Watercolor paper</strong></p>
<p><strong>&nbsp;Watercolor Papers are selected by finish and by weight. Manufacturers generally sell three or more finishes, usually labeled Rough, Cold Press, and Hot Press.For transparent watercolors, most artists prefer a Rough or Cold Press finish. A smoother finish, such as Hot Press, is desirable for opaque watercolors, and for printmaking and drawing. &nbsp;( Source of text, &nbsp;https://www.dickblick.com/watercolor/papers/ &nbsp;)&nbsp;</strong></p>
<h1><strong>This is the painting we are going to do</strong></h1>

<p><strong>We are going to start with a clean piece of paper! I used a4 watercolor paper and I kept it dry! </strong><br>
</p>

<p><strong>The first step is mixing the paint with the water! I use a plastic lid from a food container! You wet your brush and mix the paint with the water. Pick some paint up and push it on the plastic and start to add more water by wetting your brush. Do not clean it, just put it in and out and mix it with the paint! You will not use much paint! Most people think they need to use a lot but when you layer there is no need to use so many.&nbsp;</strong></p>

<p><strong>Now we are ready for the second step! <br>
Dip your brush in the paint and color the whole page blue! Keep adding water and or paint till you have the whole page covered in a nice blue shade! You do this by making HORIZONTAL stripes. From left to right or the otherway around. Long stripes. <br>
When you are done, you let it dry! <br>
Do not start with the second layer until the paint is totally dry or does not shine anymore! This will take about 10 minutes depending on how wet your paint is it can be a bit longer.&nbsp;</strong></p>

<p><strong>As you can see the paint will dry up very light! If the paint dried up much darker you did not add enough water!&nbsp;</strong></p>
<p><strong>Now, we are going to add the second layer of blue paint! Just mix up the same color with water again! You don't need to add a different color at all! Load your brush with paint again and start to draw in the first line of mountains! Just go with your flow. They do not need to look perfect! Just feel and see where you want the spikes to be! Cover the page from the top of your first mountain till the bottom as you can see on the picture! Don't go over the sky! <br>
When you have done this, step away again and let it dry!&nbsp;</strong></p>

<p><strong>We are going to keep adding layers! When the paint is dry again you can set up the second line of mountains! Again, mix water with paint and draw them onto the paper with your flat brush! You will start to see that every layer will be darker!&nbsp;</strong></p>

<p><strong>The most important thing is to really let the paint dry before you add a new layer! If you do it while the paint is still wet your painting will turn into a puddle of blue! <br>
You can speed up the progress by using a hair dryer but that might also not give you the perfect result! Having a peaceful and calm mind while creating paintings is the best thing! You don't want to rush! There is no need to rush... You have time!&nbsp;</strong></p>
<p><strong>When the paint is dry, after you nice cup of tea or a short walk you can add one more layer!&nbsp;</strong></p>

<p><strong>Now we have three rows of mountains! And again, you can see the more layers the darker the paint will be! You can stop here, or paint one more line like I did! &nbsp;The more layers you bring on, the longer it will take the paint to dry! The paper sucks in all the water and it takes a while to settle!&nbsp;</strong></p>

<p><strong>You can do this in all kinds of colors! So maybe you want to create a few of these and use pink, yellow and purple and frame them all together! There are no limits on colors or lines!&nbsp;</strong></p>
<p><strong>This is called a monotone painting style! Using just one color and still create a landscape or even a car! Its an easy way to learn how watercolors work!&nbsp;</strong></p>
<p><strong>Remember, when you aim to high your will get frustrated! Start easy! But most of all, enjoy what you are doing!&nbsp;</strong></p>
