Después de dos días rudos de mucho estudiar para el examen de matemática y  la exposición acerca de la Bomba de Hiroshima, ayer decidí que habría cero estudios en casa, que no se abriría un libro escolar. Que sería un día de relax y paz absoluta en casa. Veríamos películas en Netflix y en Disney, comeríamos lo que a mi hijo le provocase.

Porque no todo es estudiar. Ya les ha sido muy cuesta arriba el inicio a clases presenciales, el tratar de adaptarse de nuevo, además que está en un grado escolar que es la base para su bachillerato. Sin contar con los cambios hormonales que mi hijo está experimentando a causa de su edad.

Así que se después de desayunar, nos pusimos a ver la película animada "Luca" de Disney Pixar. Debo decir que nos encantó. Luego me di una ducha  mientras pensaba qué podría hacer para almorzar. Algo rápido, que requiera pocos ingredientes y a mi hijo le guste. ¡Listo! ¡Frituras! Como dice el refrán: "Una vez al año, no hace daño".

Aliñamos nuestros filetes a nuestro gusto y dejamos macerar mientras vamos haciendo los acompañantes. Yo la acompañé con arroz amarillo y ensalada de tomate, lechuga y cebolla morada. Los tomates son de nuestra propia cosecha. En junio pasado, mi hijo sembró las semillitas del tomate y se dieron en nuestro jardín.

Ya había lavado bien las papitas arrugadas porque suelen venir del mercado con mucha tierra.

Lo bueno de este tipo de almuerzos, es su rapidez en cocinarse. No es nada elaborado, son recetas de fin de semana rápidas. En menos de 30 minutos todo está listo. Claro, porque mientras se cocina el arroz, voy friendo las papitas.

Y mientras se están cocinando / friendo las papitas, voy haciendo la ensalada. Cuando el arroz esté casi listo, comienzo a cocinar las milanesas. Pueden hacerlo con aceite, pero yo las cociné en agua, porque ya con las papitas fritas es suficiente grasa. El arroz amarillo es que en lugar de colocarle sal, le coloco medio cubito Maggi.

After two rough days of much studying for the math test and the exposition about the Hiroshima Bomb, I decided yesterday that there would be zero studying at home, that there would be no opening a school book. That it would be a day of absolute relaxation and peace at home. We would watch movies on Netflix and Disney, eat whatever my son was triggered by.

Because it's not all about studying. It has already been very hard for them to start classes, trying to adapt again, plus he is in a school grade that is the basis for his high school. Not to mention the hormonal changes my son is experiencing because of his age.

We season our steaks to our liking and let it marinate while we make the side dishes. I accompanied it with yellow rice and tomato salad, lettuce and red onion. The tomatoes are from our own harvest. Last June, my son planted the tomato seeds and they came up in our garden.
