This is how I would like to begin this review of my son's happiest days at his first vacation camp. This is how he expressed it to his guides: _"These are the happiest days of my life"._

This was a gift from his godfather who works as a Coordinator at this camp and started out as a camper. He liked it so much that he decided to commit himself to the activities and from being a collaborator, he became a guide and little by little he climbed up the ladder until he became the Camp Coordinator. 

For those of us who live in Caracas and have children, we know who MG Campamento is. It is a civil association founded in Spain and also established in Venezuela for many years. The children have fun, learn new things and spend a wonderful week.

>_Así quiero comenzar esta reseña sobre los días más felices de mi hijo, en su primer campamento vacacional. Así lo expresó él a sus guías: _"Estos son los días más felices de mi vida".__

>_Este fue un regalo de su padrino quien trabaja como Coordinador en este campamento y comenzó siendo campista. Le gustó tanto, que decidió comprometerse con las actividades y de ser colaborador, pasó a ser guía y poco a poco fue escalando hasta obtener el puesto de Coordinador del campamento._ 

>_Para quienes vivimos en Caracas y tenemos hijos, sabemos quienes son MG Campamento. Es una asociación civil fundada en España y también establecida en Venezuela desde hace muchos años. Los niños se divierten, aprenden cosas nuevas y pasan una semana maravillosa._

Those who know me know that it's just me and my son, that I'm divorced and committed to his education and that I'm 100% mom. In retrospect, that has not been healthy in many ways. I put my needs and my personal life aside, to give myself entirely to his upbringing, forgetting about myself. And for our house, there are no children in our community. So this gift of a week at a holiday camp has been a blessing for him. 

Learning to share, to interact with other children outside his school environment and to have a child's life, because my son has taken on roles at home that do not correspond to his young age. But he feels he must protect me and I have had a hard time getting him to understand that this is not so, that he must enjoy and burn his stages.

>_Quienes me conocen saben que solo somos mi hijo y yo, que soy divorciada y me avoqué a su educación y que soy 100% mamá. Eso, viéndolo en retrospectiva, no ha sido sano en muchos sentidos. Dejé mis necesidades y mi vida personal de lado, para entregarme por entero a su educación, olvidándome de mí misma. Y por nuestra casa, no hay niños en nuestra comunidad. Entonces este regalo de una semana en un campamento vacacional, ha sido una bendición para él._ 

>_Aprender a compartir, a interactuar con otros niños fuera de su entorno escolar y a tener una vida de niño, porque mi hijo ha asumido roles en casa que no le corresponden para su corta edad. Pero él siente que debe protegerme y me ha costado hacer que entienda que eso no es así, que debe disfrutar y quemar sus etapas._

In this camp, even though it was not an overnight camp, but more of a five-day daycamp, there were moments in which he ate delicious food, went to bed exhausted and woke up very early excited about the prospects of the new day ahead, enjoyed the world and made many new friends and I know he will treasure those moments for the rest of his life. I hope to be able to enroll him next year in the one with overnight stay and it is outside the city, in a beautiful hacienda with a very large swimming pool.

>_En este campamento, a pesar que no era con pernocta, sino más un daycamp de cinco días, fueron momentos en los que comió delicioso, se acostaba agotado y se levantaba bien temprano emocionado ante las perspectivas del nuevo día que tenía por delante, disfrutó un mundo e hizo muchas amistades nuevas y sé que va a atesorar esos momentos durante toda su vida. Espero poder inscribirlo el año que viene en el que es con pernocta y es fuera de la ciudad, en una hacienda hermosa con piscina, muy grande._

It is important for us as parents, the education of our children, their group of friends, their social environment to be with people with similar education, with the same values and moral principles so that they can fit in the same circle. These are the bases to become adults of good living. 

And although many people are against rewarding their children when they do well in their studies, because they say that they would be used to do things well waiting to receive a prize, the truth is that this gift from his godfather for Gabo, was just for having left 6th grade with excellent school grades. Now comes a new stage, his baccalaureate.

>_Es importante para nosotros como padres, la educación de nuestros hijos, su grupo de amigos, su entorno social que sea con personas con educación similar, con valores y principios morales iguales para que puedan encajar en el mismo círculo. Estas son las bases para convertirse en adultos de buen vivir._ 

>_Y aunque muchas personas están en contra de premiar a los hijos cuando estos salen bien en sus estudios, porque dicen que estarían acostumbrados a hacer las cosas bien esperando a recibir un premio, lo cierto es que este regalo de su padrino para Gabo,  fue justamente por haber salido de 6to grado con excelentes calificaciones escolares. Ahora viene una nueva etapa, su bachillerato._

And as if it wasn't enough what my son enjoyed at camp, he earned the most important award they give to the campers. That award is called "camper spirit" and is given to the child who is always happy, has a positive attitude about everything, encourages others to continue when they lose a competition and collaborates with their guides. Here is an excerpt of his sponsor's words when he learned that Gabriel had won this award:

>_Y como si fuera poco lo que mi hijo disfrutó en el campamento, que se ganó el premio más importante que le dan a los campistas. Ese premio se llama "espíritu campista" y se lo dan al niño que está siempre feliz, que tiene una actitud positiva ante todo, anima a los demás a seguir cuando pierden alguna competencia y colabora con sus guías. Aquí un extracto de las palabras de su padrino cuando supo que Gabriel se había ganado ese premio:_

I know that I am contributing to his becoming a responsible, happy, studious, respectful, analytical teenager and I can honestly say that I feel deeply proud of my son.
