I've been looking in the wrong place for inspiration.

This is nothing but a recent realization that I had that made me stop for a moment and think about the way I've been approaching writing and content posting.

For a very long time I've been looking for ideas and inspiration in images, other people's articles, videos on YouTube, movies, video games, books, and so on.

All those sources provided me with enough ideas to write over 1000 articles here and over 200 articles on Medium, so I cannot really complain about where I got my ideas from so far.

But as time went by, I started to feel the need to write about more important topics. Sure, productivity, learning, content creation and all those things are important, to a certain degree, and I think that everyone should spend time learning about those areas to get a better understanding of what it takes to become productive and efficient, to learn new things, to create content, and so on.

However, I do believe that you should know when you've reached a limit, a level of understanding that is high enough for you to be satisfied with, especially if you know, for sure, that you don't want to do anything professional in any of those areas. Once you reach that level you should move to another topic that you know nothing about and to try to expand your horizons.

I have not been doing that, and it shows. I've been getting more and more bored and tired of writing over the years, and I could not really figure out why. I only understood the reason once I started writing articles based on the things I've been reading about lately, about responsibility, my job and the lessons I've been learning from it, and a few philosophical lessons that I've been learning while reading about philosophy.

I feel a bigger and bigger need to learn more about those areas and to write more about those topics. I also feel the need to learn more about other areas of life, about more tangible problems, topics that are truly important, aside from our own mind and our own life.

In short, I am feeling a stronger desire to learn and study, especially things that I know nothing or very little about. I also know that doing this will allow me to expand my overall knowledge and it will help me come up with more ideas for my articles.

I've been looking for inspiration everywhere, but in my own education. And it's exactly that part of myself that might be vital to the amount of good content I can write. This makes me wonder just how many more articles I could've written and where I  would be right now if I would've focused more on this aspect rather than being obsessed with getting any idea that I could write about to make a bit of extra money, or get a bit of extra attention.

It is time for me to focus a bit on my own education and see where that leads me. In time, I hope to see an improvement not only in my life, but also in the articles I write and publish.
