##### Not Another CUB Tutorial Post!

Thankfully not 😉

I've been reading through a variety of Leofinance posts today... and I'd say bout 90% of the posts I read were screenshot tutorials showing how easy it is to join pools using Cubfinance. Which is fine, there are now many blog resources out there to point people in the right direction for this information.

But I'll spare you another tutorial post. 

Like many other people I followed the tutorials, and despite never having staked to a liquidity pool before, I was up and running inside 30 minutes, including the time it took to buy/transfer BNB from Binance to my Metamask wallet.

This just goes to show how well the [official tutorials](https://docs.cubdefi.com/tutorials/how-to-deposit) on cubdefi.com were structured, and I'd like to shout out to @khaleelkazi and all the team @leofinance for doing such a great job. Now I'm all set up, the CUB are rolling in and I'm grinning like a Cheshire cat 😁

Instead of another tutorial post, I'd like to explore some of the potential implications that Leo's Defi applications may have for Leo, Hive and the future of this blockchain we have all come to call home. 

##### Hive, Leo and CUB as a Gateway to Decentralized Finance

Many people I've spoken to think that Hive isn't going to go the same way as Steem did during the bull run of 2017. This supposition is fair when you consider all the developments in the cryptocurrency space. It is fair when we consider that the market has matured somewhat, and we now have major institutions investing in cryptocurrency. 

However, one thing that hasn't changed is human behavior, especially during times of astronomical growth. The psychology of FOMO is well documented. When it comes to the mainstream, I think we can expect many of the same patterns to repeat on Hive, or perhaps the various tribe front ends that focus on specific content.

At some point we will have a massive price surge, and with that surge will come an influx of people new to Hive and also to the crypto space in general. People who have bought their first bag of Sats, but are wading around in the choppy seas of blockchain cyberspace, trying to find their way. 

I joined steem in August of 2017 right at the start of the mainstream hype. I joined for exactly the same reason that many tens of thousands did, steem seemed like a place where I could earn cryptocurrency. In my case I was a writer who had become creatively backed up, writers' block had hit hard many years before joining steem, and my old [Scuba Scribe Wordpress blog](https://rowanjoyce.wordpress.com/) was a barren desert. Steem looked like a great fit for a writer, and after facing a baptism of fire of zero votes/engagement on my first posts, my 4th post was hit with an @curie vote 😂

I nearly pissed my pants when I woke up that morning to see $90 payout on my post!

My point is that this same pull is still very much alive in the case of hive. For new people entering the space Hive offers a legitimate gateway to the cryptocurrency space, and Leofinance is quickly becoming the ultimate gateway to learn about decentralized finance on Hive.

A unique selling point for Leo and Cubfinance that I think has been somewhat overlooked is that of educational onboarding to the Defi space. If/when we enter a true market parabola, where all altcoins start skyrocketing, hive/leo is uniquely positioned to offer what no other blockchain can. 

Leofinance offers a unique environment where newbies can find educational blogs to 'hopefully' steer them in the right direction, a community (and discord) where they can ask questions to figure out how everything works, and when they're ready, a platform to write blogs about these experiences. The key thing that nowhere else offers is the ability to earn hive/leo blogging to potentially use on Cubfinance to participate in Defi.

**Education/earning/defi... all in one place.**

This trifecta of utility is a powerful combination, and already offers something that you can't find anywhere else in one place in the crypto space.

Yeah, it is a powerful combo of education/earning/defi. I suspect that if/when parabola hits hive leo is going to be instrimental in bringing both the crypto savvy, but more importantly the new money retail in.

If it goes down that way... boom, the upwards price of hive and leo is going to be impressive :)
