A Path to Vibrancy - from Omnivore to Raw Foods

Most of my life I was eating an omnivore diet - anything worked for me - meat, fish, dairy, eggs, gluten, sugar, baked goods and sure some fruits and veggies were a firm part of our kitchen inventory as well. I never questioned our way of eating but was early on curious about different ways to loose weight (yes, that was a long struggle in my teenage years) make it taste better or simply to try something very new. 

*Soon, my way of eating changed completely...*

- 2013 - VEGETARIAN: Out of the blue I realised that eating animals doesn’t really align with my love for them anymore and from one day to the next I just stopped and simply ate more of the other stuff. I was actually a big cheese lover - camembert, cottage cheese, gouda slices - I treasured it all. 

- 2014 - VEGAN: My partner was researching vegan eating for health reasons and I was so curious that I tried it for a month. Later on I informed myself about the ethical aspects of our animal industry and quickly decided that I wasn’t gonna support this madness anymore. Welcome vegan lifestyle!

- 2014-2017 - WHOLE-FOOD / RAW TILL DINNER: I learned more and more how to increase the vibrancy of my meals and step by step cut out gluten and lots of processed foods. Raw fruits and veggies became a bigger part of my meals over time until I was happily munching on raw fruits most of the day with a big salad for dinner - while still including some cooked foods along with it. 

- 2017 - FULLY RAW: After learning about the power of raw food for athletic performance, I was curious to try it myself to improve my running. And yes, it worked not only but also blew me away with all the other benefits I experiences. Since then, I am enjoying the fruity raw vegan lifestyle to its fullest.

*Of course, the journey can look different for everyone and such labels as „vegan“ or „raw“ can give only a limited view on one’s eating habits.*

Some people are so excited to meet a healthier, happier version of themselves that they jump from a conventional diet right into a raw food lifestyle. Others are thriving on the "raw till dinner" approach and want to settle there for now.
