<center>  ***  *** <H2>The sacred statuette</H2> <div class="text-justify"> In the darkness of the night the Amerack were celebrating the feast of their great god Oltech, suddenly, a shadow that combined with the dark of the jungle, stole the sacred statuette, and then vanished in the singing and bustle of the celebration. After several days Hank, a reckless and experienced tomb raider, arrived in the village. His deep-set eyes, without a shadow of fear, gave the village chief the assurance that the man could accomplish the mission. He was greeted with laughter and hope from the children, the adult people were filled with faith at the mere sight of the majestic bearing, which reminded them of the legendary warrior who saved the village from destruction thousands of years ago. "You are welcome, great white man, to our humble abode." Bowed the village chief showing his respect to Hank. "No need to kneel, chief," Hank spoke to him, taking him by the arm to make him stand up. The village chief was telling him everything that had happened and the fear they had for the curse that would fall on the village if the statuette was not returned to its altar of worship. Hank looked at the dusty village with its cone-shaped houses, and then looked back at the altar, decorated with beautiful flowers and small torches around it, the smell of incense invaded the saddened atmosphere of the village. "I will do everything possible to retrieve your sacred object." The tone of the voice denoted confidence and power. From among the yellowish-green branches emerged a woman, she bore the beauty of Ahun, goddess of life. "Majesty, you cannot entrust such a delicate mission to an outsider with skin as pale as the ash of an extinguished fire." "You intend to tell me what to do, woman." The chief's eyes instilled a fearful authority as he looked at the woman. "Nae, accompany Hank so you can show him around and begin the search for the statuette." The woman would cast a look of disdain at Hank and then without so much encouragement would show Hank the path where the thief had slipped away. Hank would say goodbye to the chief and set off in search of the statuette. Night was falling over the jungle and the firmament was adorned by a beautiful white moon, which bathed the path with its light. The couple followed the trails that the village guides had marked days before. Fireflies adorned the couple's walk through the dark, mystical jungle. "Don't worry, Nae, we'll find the statuette and the village will be quiet," hank was telling her, sketching a somewhat flirtatious smile. "Look paleface, don't come with your flattering words, I know your people, they have oppressed us for centuries, nothing good comes from their race." A hint of anger denoted Nae's words. Hank and Nae were getting to the end of the traces. "And now what do we do, this is as far as the traces go, we can't follow any more clues," Hank was saying a bit puzzled. Nae shrugged his shoulders and looked disdainfully at the man. Just as he uttered a few words to the girl, down from the top of a tree fell a masked man ambushing Hank and engaging in a fight to the death. The men twisted their bodies, moving from one side to the other. The fight grew fiercer, as Nae hurried over with a wood. She raised her delicate arms, waiting for the right moment to strike a withering blow. Amidst the deadly dance of the men, Nae became desperate and threw the blow without looking at the one who, unfortunately, hit Hank who fell fainting to the warm grass and everything went dark. After a few minutes, Hank woke up looking at nothing but darkness and fireflies, then the throbbing sound of the night calling for rain, brought him to his senses and returned as best he could to the village, there everything was in chaos the masked man had the village chief by the neck. Hank was hurrying, but before he saw Nae with the sacred statuette in her hands, she lifted it before the astonished look of the villagers. "Now I am your goddess and you must worship me, Oltech is dead, hahaha." Hank moved stealthily until he reached the altar and in an oversight he pounced on the man with the mask and with an accurate blow knocked him unconscious. The village chief was free, Hank ran to where Nae was, but a desperate shout from the chief stopped the man, "Don't do it!" "Listen to him, if you come near me I will destroy the statuette and the curse will fall on the village." A defiant tone outlined Nae's lips, as she continued to hold the statuette above his head. The fate of the Amerack was sealed, as Nae continued to demand to be proclaimed goddess. It seemed that nothing could prevent the tragic scene, the villagers knelt before the new goddess and the village chief began to proclaim Nae goddess. When the chief said the last words, the sky darkened and a lightning bolt fell from the sky that struck Nae, who disappeared amidst wails of eternal pain. The sacred statuette fell to the ground, and Hank threw himself down, stretching out his arms flexibly to catch the figure. Everyone closed their eyes at the disaster and after a few moments Hank stood up with the statuette high in his hands. The Ameracks screamed with excitement and jubilation at the feat of the new legendary hero.
