This is my black and white environment digital painting I finished today, purely from imagination!

I'm going to show my step-by-step of the process. No reference image was used to create this, it was from my own mind/imagination. 

**Step 1**

In my first step, I roughly sketches in the scene I saw in my minds eye, and with a 1-point perspective. I knew I wanted a new view of a previous waterfall scene I painted, which was also from my imagination. 

So I first took a moment to visualise it, then I began to sketch.

**Step 2**

In step two, I begin by painting the simple values, thinking about depth in the environment, with the waterfall and the bridge at the back.

**Step 3**

For the third step, I begin to add more clarity and solidity to the values and shapes.

**Step 4**

For the fourth step, I begin working out the details and design elements within the scene.

**Step 5**

At step 5, I begin to zoom closer into details and design elements, such as this secret door, pathway planks of wood, bridge design, and the suggestion of flowers around the scene.

**Step 6**

For step 6, I also subdue the brightness and contrast of this smaller waterfall on the left, so it doesn't distract and draw the eye too much from the secret door.

**Final Step**

And finally, I work my way around the image one more time, painting in small details, and softening/hardening some of the edges.
