Little is known about the time children spend on colony ships. These colony ships leave their known home to travel to new and unfamiliar places. Depending upon the team that is assigned to a colony ship, it can be anywhere from 3 to 500 years until it arrives at its destination. Once there, the colony ship is used for a few generations to plant and grow new crops, raise livestock and to explore nearby space. This process takes many years, and the children that are born go through a process of training as a childless couple. These youngsters spend a good portion of their lives on colony ships, and they spend the rest of their lives there once they are grown. The people inside ship have been making the journey for so long that they take their time to ensure the children are born, raised and trained properly to be colonists of the colonies that they travel to.

Many of the children have a lot of fun. No parents to watch over them and they spend every minute of their time on the ship running and playing games. The other fun part of the lives of the children is the treats that they are given. The children are given food, toys and other types of treats depending upon how they are the subjects of the training process. Sometimes the children are made the subjects of social experiments. One of the most extreme experiments is when a ship almost completely loses contact with its starting point. The ship and its children become the target of vicious attacks by other ships and aliens.

From time to time the children are separated from their parents for a few weeks so they can receive more training. In theory, the children will complete the process quicker if they are not charged with learning from the mistakes of their parents and are allowed to be a little selfish. During these short breaks, the children are given a lot of fun skills, toys and other types of treats to make them happy. At that point, they are usually completely disoriented, and they have few memories of their original life.

On one such separate occasion, a group of children were sent to an off world facility for 50 years. The children aged through a period of training and then returned to the colony ship. Upon return, many of the parents were not initially pleased with the childrens' experience because they have not named the kinds of credentials and training that was imparted to them. At the same time, there was an entire percentage of the children that showed extreme behaviors, and there were some uncertainly about what they were capable of. The parents were not certain that they fully understood the experience of a three dimensional further in time. The oldest children seemed to be not completely affected by the trip and were not confused about their surroundings. During their training the children had been raised in an environmental tank where they were exposed to the challenges of three dimensional space. The children who returned to the ship were the subject of changes that had never been seen before. They were the subject of changes to their DNA.

None of the colonies on the ship have been successful in understanding the changes in the children. Some of the parents were distressed when very active children began to experiment with new behaviors that were well beyond their years of experience. The owners would protest because they would have to make changes to the children during the training process and parents would complain about the additional training that was needed.

Some of the parents were beyond distressed because they noticed changes in children that seemed to be the result of having been exposed to addictive substances.

A few of the children were found dead, and it seemed that they had abused the processes that they were put through and were given. In other cases, some of the children were actin inappropriately, and they seemed to have been exposed to new and foreign processes that were not fully understood. In the end, the special children were trained and sent into the world. They were looked at as a whole new group of people, and very few of them were settled for the first colonists. They mostly were left on the ship, and their presence reminded the owners of what they accomplished.

To understand how this happened, we need to understand something of the technology that was used to travel out to the colonies. The technology that is used is a combination of a spaceship and a time transporter. The method is not the same as that used in the military. The ship is outfitted with equipment that allows it to travel through a wormhole in a parallel universe. At the same time, the time ratio is skewed so that only a few weeks of travel show up in the logs. This allows the ship to travel from its starting point to its destination without having to go through a lengthy trip.

One of the people who developed the technology was not completely able to refine it. This meant that the trips were not completely successful. It wasn't until recently that people began to realize that the time ratio was skewed. For many years, this didn't make a difference. The return trip always seemed to reflect the time that it took to get to the destination, and usually was a little longer. Over the years, people began to realize that it would be a big problem if the ratio of time distortion at the beginning of a trip was not correctly set. The ratio would have to be set to a ratio that would give a great deal of time distortion at the end of the trip.

Because of the nature of the time travel technology, the ship and its colonists were in 50 years of cryosleep. They had been oblivious to the changes that occurred in the designs of the ship and the technology.

The new colonies that were outfitted for cryosleep space travel were not designed for very long travel times. As time went on, this meant that the technology was upgraded. Some of the cryosleep units need to be upgraded, and this made the onboard food plants ineffective. The children became a source of food because it was believed that the nutrients that they produce would compensate for the deficiency in onboard nutrition. The colony ship was already running out of food, and the adults were going to eat the children.

As a result, the colony ship was outfitted with new cryosleep capability. It was decided that the children in the special group would be frozen for a longer period of time. To do this, the temperature of the cryosleep units was dropped. This allowed a longer hibernation period to take place. It was found that the children could be frozen in the unit, and their entire lives would be frozen until the point that they should be awakened on the ship.

The children are discovered just before the ship is due to arrive at its destination. The time of waking up the children is overdue, and the cryo units are slowing to a point of unreliable operation. The children who have been hibernating awake, uncertain as to how much time has elapsed. They are taken from the hibernation units and are corralled in a room in the ship for questioning. The children are confused about what happened to them, and they are suspicious of the adults who they are living with. The parents respond that the children have been abused, and the children are put under an intense amount of medication.

The parents claim that the medicine is not to be blamed because corrupt people started a pharmacy that was producing a mind altering drug. The pharmacy was closed down, but the effect of the drug was not removed. This drug was put in the children's food. It was placed in the food, and the adults were not aware of its origin.

The parents were requesting some time to put the children back on a proper diet. Young children require milk and meat. Milk is produced by the bodies of the children, and the meat is given by way of the food that the children eat. When these children are placed on a diet with proper nutrition, the effects of the mental illness they had become are removed.

The children are not sent back to the colony to resume their normal lives. They are allowed to stay in the ship. They are allowed to live in the ship for a longer period of time than most of the colonists. During this time, their food needs are met from the food plants onboard the ship. In the end, they are able to return to the colony to resume the life they had before.

For many years, the parents that are taken back to the colony are accepted. For a while, they are shunned. The parents take this as a fair reaction to what they had done for their children. In time, they are accepted back into the community and understood. They continue their lives as parents.

For many years, the children who are sent back to the colony are taken care of well. They are well cared for by their parents and by the community at large. After a couple of years, they are sent back to the colony. The parents are made to understand that it is best for the children to leave the colony to start their own lives.

For a while, the people of all the cities on the planet left the planet. The city was left to itself, in the hopes that it would end up becoming a heaven on earth, a place that nobody was forced to go to. The people stayed off the planet and married other people who were sent back to the planet. The population grew on the planet, but the planet was not able to support the population to the standards that were set. The planet could not maintain the planet and the city at the same time.
