-Eres un desordenado José, un bueno para nada, mas me hubiera valido nunca haberte contratado, parece que tienes un cacahuate por cerebro, si te llegaran a ofrecer un trabajo en otra parte, mas te vale aceptarlo aunque te paguen menos-

-Buenos días jefe, parece que está un poco alterado, ¿le puedo ayudar en algo? ¿Le traigo algo de tomar?-

-José déjate de tonterías ¿Donde está el reporte que te pedí el sábado?

-Ingeniero, me lo pidió el sábado al terminar mi turno, yo entendí que quería que empezara con eso el lunes a primera hora-

-No José, tengo una junta a las once de la mañana y no encuentro el informe por ningún lado, vas a  tener que entrar conmigo a la junta para que expliques las gráficas que me mandaste, está todo revuelto.-

-Por su puesto cuente con eso ingeniero, no se apure.-

Durante la junta José saludo a todos con gran entusiasmo, sabía que la empresa debía enfrentar amenazas externas por la creciente competencia, el aumento en los precios de los insumos y por la necesidad de reducir el precio del producto final para poder seguir compitiendo. Sin embargo el sonreía constantemente, su entusiasmo era realmente contagioso.

Casi al terminar la junta uno de los ejecutivos de alto nivel, toma la palabra…

-Básicamente la estrategia es invertir en capacitación en plena crisis, mejorar la distribución como aquí lo explicas y despedir jefes de medio nivel, empezando contigo mismo-

-Así es, de otra manera en muy poco tiempo se tendría que cerrar la empresa con grandes perdidas financieras y puestos de trabajo-

-Muy Bien José, y ¿Cuándo piensas presentar tu renuncia?-

-La envié esta mañana a RH, solo que quedé para terminar el informe y para explicar la estrategia-

Esa misma tarde, José se despidió de sus compañeros, recogió su cheque y se fue a su casa mientras silbaba una canción.

-Engineer, you asked me on Saturday at the end of my shift, I understood that you wanted me to start with that first thing Monday morning-

-No José, I have a meeting at eleven in the morning and I can’t find the report anywhere, you will have to go to the meeting with me to explain the graphs you sent me, everything is mixed up.-

-Of course you can count on that engineer, do not hurry.-

During the meeting, José greeted everyone with great enthusiasm, he knew that the company had to face external threats due to the growing competition, the increase in the prices of inputs and the need to reduce the price of the final product in order to continue competing. However he constantly smiled, his enthusiasm was truly contagious.

Almost at the end of the meeting, one of the high-level executives takes the floor ...

-Basically the strategy is to invest in training in the midst of a crisis, improve distribution as explained here and fire mid-level bosses, starting with yourself-

-That’s right, otherwise in a very short time the company would have to close with great financial losses and jobs-

-Very good José, and when do you plan to present your resignation? -

-I sent it to HR this morning, I just stayed to finish the report and to explain the strategy-

That same afternoon, José said goodbye to his coworkers and collaborators, picked up his check and went to his house while he whistled a song.
