Splinterlands Strategies: PLOT Tokens, a Bargain at $500 each?

Yesterday I bought some HIVE with USDT that was doing nothing but collecting dust for me on Binance, traded it for SWAP.HIVE and duly bought 3 x Splinterlands PLOT tokens.

How much was that you may ask..., around $1500. Are you mad you say? I could be, just look at my handsome avatar, that says it all.

PLOT’s used to be $20 each but you can’t forget ever seeing that kind of value again and I think they are still undervalued at 25x that price.

Virtual land is going bananas. Look at Alien Worlds and then look a little closer at the cheapest land plot.

Yesterday it was $6700. If the PLOT token 10x’s again it still would be cheaper and unless things have changed Alien Worlds is still a mining game or a fancy faucet.

Click a button every 5/10/15 minutes to earn TLM. TLM is the equivalent of DEC, a tradable sellable token that happens to be listed on Binance.

Alien Worlds has a massive following and yet in my opinion is a much lesser game (is it really a game?), is less polished, and runs on WAX.

I like WAX, it uses something similar to the HIVE resource credits instead of charging user fees like these other unsuitable gaming chains use (I am looking at you BSC and ETH), so you need to stake a little for your transactions to be approved.

HIVE is still superior, with no annoying pop-ups, and Splinterlands is a much meatier game that does require an element of strategy to win.

As well as that, look at the interface? Nobody can deny it's super polished and looks fantastic.

We have all seen the meteoric rise in Splinterlands since being listed on some exclusive gaming site that evades me for the moment.

It's little wonder HIVE is extremely bullish compared to other tokens even in the face of the massive selloff yesterday.

When land arrives it is going to explode again and the landowners are going to be rubbing their hands together in glee.

$500 per plot looks like a large gamble but is it? I already had 11 in the bag from the pre-sales but I want more and am willing to pay this price.

My buying won’t stop on the PLOT token and if I see any bargains along the way I will purchase more.

One thing I intend to do is retire from the employment rat race and blockchain gaming is going to help me do just that.

This is just the beginning. Give it **FIVE** years and the mainstream games won’t give you just kudos such as Achievements and Trophies. You will be earning tokens that have a tangible value.

There is going to be a lot of money to be made if you have the foresight to see what is on the distant horizon.

I still see Splinterlands going from what it is currently to a behemoth. The team behind it are dedicated, they take their time and we have seen little in the way of disasters in the past.

It is only a matter of time before all those Facebook gamers playing those time-wasting games start seeing what they can get for **FREE** elsewhere.

Very little is the answer, but that is the lure. Even if a small percentage bite they will still be the early adaptors in a gaming world that is ever-changing and evolving.

I definitely agree with your strategy.  I bought some land in the beginning but didn't really realize what the PLOT token was.  Have to think about making a bigger investment.  Those facebook gamers are indeed wasting their time and making facebook the money instead of themselves.  I love Splinterlands and am so glad I go into it a couple of years ago.  I'm going to make a mortgage payment on the 15th with my staking income from SPS - free money from the free money!

Splinterlands has turned from a fun little game into a playground for investors with serious money to put in. Decent cards cost hundreds of dollars now. Okay, so I have done well from it, but that has been largely from playing, although I have spent a bit on cards. I can enjoy the daily SPS airdrop.

It's got to a stage where I wonder if it's worth levelling up my cards. I expect a lot of people will just rent out their cards rather than playing as they can get a nice income from that. I am renting out some from splinters I was not playing much anyway.

I wonder where all the thousands of new players are coming from and how many are bots. People desperate to make a few bucks will probably have to rent cards, but maybe that can be profitable. Recently there are been less cards in daily challenge rewards. If only I could sell those hundreds of potions I have.

The original land sale was a bit of farce as many people did not get a chance to buy any and some of us who did group buys have not got our plots yet.

I am not against you earning from the game. I do think they do a great job on design, but some of the fun has gone out of it. Despite that I do still play a bit each day and help out in my guild's brawls. It has got harder as I don't have some of the newer summoners that seem to give an advantage and it would cost a lot to get them.

Balancing fun and profit is a tricky task.

I don't have my plots either, (outside of these three). I am not playing anymore but will probably start again once Chaos is released. I miss getting the chests as its always a buzz.

Land was still on-sale at the regular price, its just that we all felt cheated as we didn't get in on the deals. Seeing now whats happened its a big regret and kudus to those who had the foresight to buy a TRACT.

I'd tend to agree that the price hike has influenced my spending. I've only been levelling up new cards with my in-game earnings whereas when I started a few months ago when 2000 DEC was roughly the same as 2000 credits I was far more willing to throw £20 here and there to level up cards for the Silver rank bracket. I would dread to be a new player starting now as my initial £300-400 spend that got me into silver comfortably is now worth like £3000. Guild improvements have now also gone through the roof in cost. I spent like £50 levelling up my guild's buildings to like level 4 or 5 which was plenty for what we wanted (getting into brawls etc.) but now the price to level up a guild building has increased ten-fold with the DEC price boom.
