It takes a lot efforts to be successful on this platform. People usually don't see or read posts here. Most of the time they upvote a post without seeing its content. They just follow the reputation score of the user or they simply follow a whale and automatically upvote him. 
I don't know how you earned 10k SP but I found it a very hard job to get one SP per week. I powered up about 175 SP since I joined this platform. I could not have my present reputation score without the help of bidbots, though I don't use them now. I saw more than 100 upvotes on many users' posts but the total payout was not more than 1 or 2 dollars for them while a single vote was worth more than $100 for some lucky ones. 
I think without help of large SP holder, success is not possible here.

I wish the view counter was still active. I would love to see the views some stuff gets. I think so many people just upvote without looking based on a photo or title. It would be nice to see a somewhat accurate reflection of how much something actually got checked out. 

I feel it’s definiteky hard to get noticed. I have my core group that we all interact with here. We all support each other but I’m always looking for new folks who are passionate. It seems so many higher ups could care less about that. I’ve reached out and tried to engage with people that I just never hear back from. That’s a bit disheartening for someone who’s relatively new and committed.

I agree, it is insanely hard to earn anything.  I have been on Steemit for over six months now and I am still trying to get myself up to 200 SP.  I usually post decent content about 4 to 5 times a week, so it doesn't feel like it should really be this hard, but it definitely is.  I understand why a lot of people have been giving up lately.

 ( higher than on insta or YouTube )  i think people arent that commited anymore. I post 3-4 times a day and never expected that it would be so nice to do. As a earlybird steemer like yourself i wonder what do you think of my blogs. just curious....

It is too hard to earn 10k steem power now. People who wants to have Steem Power, should invest steem now.

It is hard to earn SP, at least much harder than the early days... I remember i reached my first 100 SP easily in the first few weeks, thanks to some kind large upvotes from curie and other voting trails, and thanks to my openmic performances (i remember @pfunk used to upvote every single openmic performance)... 
As steem was cheap enough and the reward pool where distrubited amoung less users, we used to get more steem for each post... I really didnt cared at that point because i did not knew what it was about, but i kind felt dissapointed because all my post earned more steem power than SBD, now i am happy that i earned so much SP, and always trying to increase it...
New users have it hard, even if they get a large upvote, they get little SP, so for them to reach 500 SP is hard enough... But they can buy steem whenever the SBD price get those mad pumps and take advantage from that... Thing is that new users doesnt really know how to take advantage, and most of them realize it with the time... Most of new users just take their SBD and spend it...

I'm trying to earn as much Steem Power as I can as it already feels hard to me although, I appreciate that I have done better than a lot of others. But it takes consistent effort and hard work.

I wrote the following in response to Exyle posting that he had reached 120K SP.  He confirmed that he reached 20K SP within 6 months of being on Steemit from a combination of blogging and buying.

Just for the record I wanted to post what it is like now, at least how it's been for me.

I have been here just over 6 months. I have posted every day except Christmas day and my birthday, usually 4 times a day. I have made more than 12,000 posts.

I have managed to buy 120 Steem.

I have won a number of competitions giving me SBD and Steem.

I have been gifted a few delegations of 200 SP for different periods of time.

Even with all that, I have yet to reach 800 SP. 😂

That's a long, long way from Exyle's 20K. Huge difference even if he bought half his stake.

yes it's difficult to build steemit accounts these days. I am against using Bidbots it gives you nothing but loss of reward, But every one deserves a decent view of his quality contest, but it doesn't work if you don't have decent influence.

You beat me by about 3,000 users. I'm 47 something (but still in the first 50K). 

Out of many social platforms I seen and used my go to is still steemit. I personally put some real money into the platform and unfortunately i am in a situation where I have to cash out. I still use the platform daily and hope to continue to grow. Slow and steady wins the race. 

On the positive side if it is difficult to earn steem now than ever before than maybe scarcity will raise steem prices. Thanks.

It doesn't matter how hard you work. A plagiarist can clear 100K by copying Hollywood movies, but 10 hours of work gets me nothing on Steemit. If I posted this on my own Dtube channel you'd never ever see it.

Jesus Christ! So you were making a 100 sp a week last year and some of us are still struggling to make 10sp for over 3 months now. Things has really changed on steemit! it's getting harder by the day for minnows and new entrant. Can you give any tip that can help minnows make like 20sp in a month?

A shame that site isn't up to date. It doesn't even register me. I wonder of there is any equivalent site with similar stats that is.

I am not from the earlier day's, just here half a year, but do noticed things are less speeding as before.. But like you already mentioned in some of the comments on this post... We'll keep on posting , engaging and having a great time...the rest will follow, or not...not much of a issue :)

I like to use steemit. It is little bit dificult but not impossible . you run very long keep it up
